Haydon Bridge is a pretty village situated on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, a short drive away from the remains of the Roman Forts on Hadrians Wall, a World Heritage Site. There is plenty of walking available, with Allen Banks just 3 miles away. Amenities in the village include a railway station, a variety of shops, pubs, a local tourist information centre, churches and riverside walks. Hexham and Haltwhistle are slightly further afield with many more amenities and attractions on offer including Hexham Abbey and the 14th-century old gaol.

"We booked this cottage to get away for a New Year break. It was cosy, and had all the space we needed for 7 of us. We had 8 year old twins and Clara and her family couldn't have made us any more welcome. They are delightful. We felt like part of the family. Lovely surrounding towns worth a visit. We were encouraged to visit the animals on the farm. We will definitely be back."
"It was our 2nd visit to claras cottage and it was just as we remembered.....our delicious cake upon arrival... and our lovely garden which bob the dog started exploring immediately...we stayed 6 nights ..and it was so relaxing..country walks were stunning...local co op 10 mins away in car (but walkable too..if u enjoy a good walk) also tesco..aldi...around 20 mins in a car...so pretty near to shops if needed...clara and her family are so welcoming..and her dogs and horses are beautiful... so pet friendly..it is a must to visit..i will b returning back..and of course bob the dog too"
"I chose this cottage primarily as it was pet friendly...upon arrival clara had baked us a cake..which was out of this world..absolutely delicious..the cottage was beyond expectations .spotlessly clean..little touches like travel essentials in baskets in rooms..brilliant touch..brilliant host...not intrusive..but on call if u need anything..loved her dogs and horses..i took my border collie and he absolutely loved it..would absolutely recommend this beautiful cottage with private garden...great family friendly .met claras children ..lovely and friendly..i have already booked up for november..cant wait..jackie and michelle and bob the dog"
