Bedside tables, built in shelving & hanging, dressing table plus 1 x day bed suitable for children up to 12, as well as space for a cot for children under two. Open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area. Sitting room with oak flooring & rug, sofas and arm chair. TV, DVD player, MP3/CD player, logburner. Dining table seating 4. Storage cupboard for shoes/coats by front door. Large built in shower cubicle with power shower, sink, WC, heated towel rail, slate floor.

It is a light and airy studio-style holiday cottage, finished with natural materials including slate and oak flooring in the living areas. Ideal for a couple, or a couple with one young child or baby, Number 1 The Hinges is perfect for those looking for affordable high-quality accommodation. The bedroom has an enormously comfortable 6' bed with a separate day bed for a child under 12. In the living area you will also find a woodburning stove, perfect for those cosy nights in. A little hideaway, Number 1 The Hinges is the perfect place for those wishing to explore what Crantock has to offer, with all local amenities just a short walking distance away.

Crantock is a small Cornish village set back from the coast close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the north to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.

"Just got home from a wonderful weeks stay at no1 the hinges crantock. This is the 2nd winter stay in this cottage which is just lovely for us and our dog. Cottage is warm, cosy and very comfortable (not even had to light the log burner which if we're honest we were looking forward to). Local shop is very well stocked even in winter. Two local pubs very dog and people friendly. Will definitely be back can't wait."

"We go to this part of Cornwall every year, this year excited to take the new baby. Two adults, a 3 yr old, newborn and a dog. We were very disappointed when we arrived at the property. The parking situation was not clear and there was a lot of re-jigging of cars when people wanted to leave 3 different properties all using he same driveway. The cottage itself is extremely small. The photos give an impression of LOTS more space then there actually is. It is effectively two rooms plus a small shower room. The downstairs living space is very small and tight. The bedroom is quite big, but the height of the ceiling is very restrictive. We all based our heads a lot. Even my 3 year old due to the incredibly low eaves. I don't understand how it can be advertised that the height would only be a problem is you were taller than 6 foot. We befriended the family next door at 3 the hinges and their kitchen was the same size of our whole cottage. Not an exaggeration at all. The family next door felt so bad for us they offered for us to keep some of our stuff at their cottage! There is no outside space, other than the driveway, which is a bit problematic with a dog and children. The wifi rarely worked as at least two properties are using the same account. Very frustrating as it states that there is wifi but it was very unreliable. We felt disappointed with the property and feel that the price was extremely inflated for the space that il we had. Considering that most of Crantock is made up of holiday cottages I would highly recommend looking at alternative places to 1 The Hinges."
