Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 2.5 miles, Licensed Restaurant 6 miles. Pub 5 miles. Note: Due to sloping ceilings in the property, care should be taken. Note: There is no mobile phone reception or WiFi at this property. Note: Check-in 4pm.

Dating from 18th century, Port William sits on the east side of Luce Bay on the Machars Peninsula in Dumfries and Galloway. There is history in the area from early Christian sites through to more recent smuggling. The harbour that dates from the 18th century, it offers sea angling and is ideal for sailing.

"We stayed in Drumfad Cottage at the beginning of summer with our two children and dog. Straight away we absolutely loved our home for the week! The cottage is large and spacious, gorgeous views of the countryside, peace and quiet like you wouldn't believe (even with two kids and a dog in tow!). The 5minute drive to the beach was a favourite of ours, so handy for anytime of day, and the beach is immaculate with soft sand and clear waters.... and hardly anyone else on the beach regardless of what time of day we went. Plenty of walks around the countryside taking in the beautiful scenery and wildlife. We spotted deer running near the cottage, cows, swans, ducks....the kids loved it! The owners of the cottage are a lovely couple, so friendly and helpful and we would definitely book direct with them next time we stay. They obviously pride themselves in providing a relaxing comfortable stay for guests, and the welcome basket including fresh home made bread was a lovely touch. We would highly recommend a stay at Drumfad holiday homes for people of all ages, and we hope to return again soon! x"
