Also inside you will find a kitchen and a living dining room with a woodburning stove. To the outside there is off road parking for two cars and a lawn and a patio with tables and chairs. Muddykins Cottage is a comforting cottage in a beautiful rural location. Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Barnstaple is at the mouth of the Taw Estuary, on the North Devon coastline between Westward Ho! and Croyde and is a short drive from the Exmoor National Park. Barnstaple is a coastal town with a market, shops, restaurants and bars, along with two beaches popular with surfers and families. The town is renowned for its floral displays having won a Britain in Bloom award and flowers are found around every corner. Barnstaple lies at the end of the Tarka line railway journey, which takes you through the North Devon countryside of valleys, moorland and a coastline, plus close by is the village of Clovelly. A combination of beaches and family attractions makes Barnstaple a desirable holiday destination.

"The cottage itself was lovely although there were a few things that let it down. No logs for the fire, having stayed in cottages before the first basket of logs is usyally free then you supply more if needed, there were none to start with, no little things like tea bags milk, bread etc. I know it's self catering but not everyone brings everything with them, it would have been a nice touch. Some of the cutlery and dinner plates needed cleaning before we could use them and there were no bin bags provided, again it's self catering but you don't always think you'll need to provide everything! I agree that although its a lovely cottage you can't walk to the pub or into the countryside as the road is just too dangerous. We had hoped to find a safe pathway or field entrance but no luck on that front. We had looked on google earth to see what was around but you can't always rely on that as a true reflection of the area. That aside, we had a good holiday, the weather was changeable but that was expected due to the late time of the season. Oh, and where did the hot tub go??"
