The traditional village of Oughterard is found in the west of Ireland on the shores of Lough Corrib, at the start of the Connemara Mountain range and close to the famous Western Way. Home to the Oughterard 18-hole championship golf course, Derroura Mountain Bike Trail and Aughnanure Castle, there are lots of things to see and do, and located next to Lough Corrib, Oughterard is great for lovers of fishing. Just a short drive away in Roscahil is the pretty Brigit's Garden; with four main gardens and places to play, sit and relax, this is a great day out for all the family.

"this is an excellent base for walking, fishing, bird watching,sightseeing or even some peace and quiet close to all ammenities and a really friendly welcome,for fishing plenty of local advice the garden is so peaceful and all you hear is the birdsong and the breeze rustling through the leaves very tranquil there are plenty hills and lochs in the area to go rambling and there is plenty waters around and about to fish and the bird life is amazing the locals are really friendly and there is plenty pubs and restaurants in town, so a very big thank you to colleen and family."
