This lovely cottage is located near the village of Appledore and can sleep four people in two bedrooms. Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Ground floor bathroom with bath, shower over and basin. Separate WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with electric fire.
The Retreat is a lovely cottage near the village of Appledore, just four miles from Bideford. The cottage sleeps four people and has one double bedroom, one twin and a ground floor family bathroom. Also in the cottage is a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting area with an electric fire. Outside is roadside parking and an enclosed courtyard with furniture and a barbecue. Situated next to the River Torridge, The Retreat is a lovely holiday home at any time of the year. Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking available nearby on first come, first served basis. Additional parking in nearby Pay and Display car parks. Enclosed courtyard with furniture and BBQ. Two well-behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 4 mins walk, pub 2 mins walk. Note: Property situated down a narrow one way road. Note: when accessing property, the toilet, bathroom and kitchen on level, living area accessed down two small steps.

Where the Taw and Torridge rivers meet, sits the delightful quayside village of Appledore, next to the River Torridge. Appledore boasts a small but great range of shops, pubs, guesthouses and art galleries. A thriving fishing and trading village since the 14th century, Appledore has been a famous boat-building centre for many years and the shipyard is still active today. Picturesque Appledore provides a peaceful base from which to explore North Devon, and is close to surf beaches.The Quay is very central to life in the village and it is here you will find many activities including fishing trips, crabbing contests on the quay, and sometimes Morris Dancers. This quaint fishing village has a maze of narrow streets leading to the quay.

"My daughter and I have just stayed in this delightful little cottage.(It is very small with low beams and doorways and the kitchen is a tight squeeze so larger/taller folk be warned!) It is well equipped, spotlessly clean and absolutely everything has been thought of, from a salad spinner to children's games and dvds! It is situated in a lovely village with quaint, narrow streets and very welcoming local residents. The cottage is situated on the coastal path from where you can walk to Westward Ho! Just lovely."
