Overview

The small village of Roche is the perfect rural base for touring Cornwall, with the wild open space of Bodmin Moor only six miles away. Split-level ground floor accommodation. Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 2 x twin (all upper ground floor). Upper ground floor bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Superb upper ground floor fitted kitchen with dining area. Spacious lower ground floor sitting room with flame-effect electric stove and doors to patio overlooking courtyard.

One mile from Roche and four miles from St Austell nestles this delightful holiday home. The Linney has been created in a Grade II listed 19th Century China clay drying kiln and offers well equipped characterful accommodation with exposed timbers, part wood floors and other understated reminders of the buildings "china clay" heritage. The Linney is one of five holiday homes in this superbly renovated building, and provides guests with a spacious sitting room with doors to the patio and courtyard, swings for the children, and its own stream that runs past the back of the building. This fascinating part of Cornwall offers gorgeous beaches, charming fishing villages and the wonderful Eden Project close by. Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

The little village of Roche is only six miles from Bodmin and easily accessible by the A30, making it a fantastic holiday location for anyone looking to explore the wider area of Cornwall. With its selection of shops and pubs, this quaint settlement is primarily involved in agriculture leaving a picturesque patchwork of lush, gently undulating fields. Just a thirty minute drive away is the ruggedly beautiful north Cornish coast, with rocky caves, high cliffs and excellent surfing beaches. Newquay, with its new Fistral Beach surf centre, is also nearby, along with the fishing village of Padstow. With its narrow, winding streets, charming harbour and renowned restaurants, this small town certainly merits a visit. The spectacular Eden project is also close by, with biomes full of tropical plants.

"Property was generally very well-appointed - can hardly think of anything that wasn't provided - location also was great for exploring north & south coastlines - still only an hour drive away from places like St Ives and Porthcurno - parking very convenient and spacious for MPV in front of property - even had swings & slide for kids which went down well - massive living-room area downstairs which the kids also loved - only small issue I had was with hitting my head a few times on the sloping ceilings in the bedrooms - best way for this place to be improved though I think is with some sort of wi-fi connection - almost getting to the point where people expect it in B&B;'s or hotels now so why not also cottages? Would really have been useful to have planned the week a little more with online forecasts and info on places to visit - if it had the wi-fi I'd probably rate it excellent overall."
