"Jasmine Cottage is in an ideal location in Appleby, dog friendly, close to an excellent pub with a very good menu and walks from the doorstep. The owners, Steve and Viv welcomed us and we were shown around this lovely, well equipped, clean and cosy cottage and cannot speak too highly on how we were amazed about everything which has been provided here - even including a first aid kit. We loved the area, with so much to pack into each and every day, including visiting the lakes, castles, walks along the river, and very much more. An absolute gem of a place to stay, and we would definitely choose Jasmine Cottage again when we return to Appleby."

"We stayed here for a week last year. Cottage was lovely. Everything you could need is there. We had our shopping delivered to avoid having to drive to the nearest large supermarket. Owners were also lovely. Such a nice area to stay. We will be back!"

"My husband and I recently booked this cottage for one week in November 2017. Upon arrival, we noticed a very strong smell of mold and mildew throughout the house. We tried airing it out, but the smell was still prevalent. My husband suffers from asthma, and we are both allergic to molds. So we had to pack our bags and relocate to a B&B for 4 nights, and then readjust our vacation plans to find another cottage in another town. It was very disappointing and inconvenient to us. We should have heeded the prior Trip Advisor reviewer who noted the same problem. The husband/owner seemed nice enough, but the wife seemed annoyed when I called prior to arrival and asked about the availability of food stores in town. She advised me that I should order all my food on-line as options were very limited. So we lugged all our groceries in on the train and were surprised to find two good sized grocery stores, a green grocer, butcher, and bakery in town. We conveyed this information about the smell to Sykes Cottages when they asked for a review of our 'stay'. We received an e-mail saying they would look into it and get back to us, but its been weeks and we have never heard a thing. I just checked and our review had not been posted on their site."

"Cottage was as described on the booking site, everything we needed. Lovely and helpful, but not intrusive, owners. Area beautiful and pub next door with good food."

"This is the fourth holiday I have spent In the beautiful Jasmine Cottage. This detached cottage offers everything that holiday makers could wish for in accommodation. It is very clean, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and electric blankets are provided during colder weather. The owners live close by and are very helpful, each time I have visited there has been fresh flowers and a cake to welcome me. I strongly recommend a visit to this peaceful cottage, well situated for the more energetic walkers, but a peaceful haven for those wishing to relax or just stroll. I have recommended Jasmine Cottage to all my family and friends."

"Stayed the 22nd - 29th December. The owners, Vivian and Steve were very friendly and helpful and the cottage had everything we needed. On arrival there were beautiful fresh roses and a cake. Just what we needed after travelling. The cottage was very cozy and very warm. The bedrooms were very large and the beds extremely comfortable with electric blankets! The bedding was beautiful. We had 3 small dogs with us and the garden was totally enclosed. The river Eden runs through the village and there are lovely walks alongside also close enough to drive to well known beauty spots. The pub next door welcomes dogs and very friendly. Great food. Great holiday. We will definitely go back."
