Three bedrooms: 1 x double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin, 1 x single. Bathroom with bath, basin and WC. Fitted kitchen with AGA and breakfast bar. Cosy sitting room. Additional sitting/reading area.
Situated on the old London to Penzance coaching road in the delightful village of Mitchell near Newquay, this Grade II listed semi detached former groom's cottage has been built from local stone. Cosy, comfortable accommodation at The Wedge includes an AGA, a double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a sitting room and a lovely reading area. Two further bedrooms mean this cottage appeals to families with older children, friends or couples seeking to make the most of this holiday region. There is a sitting area to the front of the cottage, and the shop is just a minutes stroll, with a pub 2 miles away and the amenities and surfing beaches of Newquay 7 miles up the coast. Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

Small sitting area to front of cottage with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 2 miles, pub 100 yards. Note: This property is suitable for babes-in-arms and children over 8 only.

Set on the old coaching road from London to Penzance is the pretty Cornish village of Mitchell. Situated in the heart of the Cornish countryside, this charming village boasts a lovely pub and a tranquil setting, ideal for those looking to get away from the stresses of city living. Mitchell is well placed for visitors to Newquay, the region's fabulous beaches, the Eden Project, local fishing villages, Truro and the dramatic Cornish coast. Birdwatchers are also well catered for with numerous cliff top walks past magnificent sea bird colonies. The area is also home to many Celtic myths, as well as the legendary town of Land's End.

"A lovely cottage located in an excellent central location just off the A30 making it an ideal base to explore all of Cornwall. The cottage has lots of character and is far larger inside than it appears from the exterior photos. Nice country style kitchen with a Rayburn cooker which we really liked but some people may find strange if they are used to a normal gas or electric cooker. With a living room, sitting room and reading room downstairs there is plently of room for families or friends who do not want to spend all of their time together. It's central location means you can easily explore anywhere in Cornwall within about a 40 mile drive. There is a very good gastro pub 'The Plume of Feathers' just a short walk from the cottage and a couple of miles away down a typical narrow Cornish Road is 'The Pheasant Inn' which offers good food at very reasonable prices. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly book this cottage again. Only downside is that there is no rear garden, although there is a small patio area to the front."
"We had lots of trips out and about anf ound the this great cottage a perfect base. The aGa really impressed Mum and Nan and the separate front room was a good place to relax and read if the rest of the family wanted to watch TV"

"I sent a review of the accommodation soon after we stayed in the property. Briefly, we liked the house but felt some general information e.g. bus timetables, details of bin collection days and arrangements, nearest shop and route, and reviews of local pubs and restaurants would have helped, and given a more personal feel. the local pub, The Plume of Feathers, just a few yards awsy, was excellent. The menu was interesting but not fussy, the food superb. Staff, food, atmosphere and the weekly pub quiz made for a welcoming experience."
"Lovely cottage which is much bigger inside than it looks. Ideally placed for touring and a lovely pub / restaurant a few yards away. The service from Sykes Cottages was brilliant and we will certainly be booking through Sykes again. Many thanks for a superb holiday."
