Sleeping up to five people in three bedrooms, this cottage is on a working croft 5 miles from Uig on the Isle of Skye. Three bedrooms: 1 x ground floor single, 1 x double, 1 x king-size double with additional single child's sofa bed. Ground floor shower room with shower, basin and WC. Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Fitted kitchen with dining area (seats 6). Sitting room with woodburning stove.
Trotternish Cottage is a cottage on a working croft 5 miles from Uig on the Isle of Skye. The cottage has a ground floor single room, a double room and a king-size double with additional single child's sofa bed. There are two shower rooms, one on the ground floor. There is also a kitchen with dining area, and a sitting area with woodburning stove. Outside is off road parking, and a lawned garden to the front and rear, with some lovely views over the glen and river. Trotternish Cottage makes a wonderful base for families or friends to explore the beautiful scenery, or take in the abundant nature of Skye. From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Oil central heating with woodburning stove in sitting room. Five burner gas range with double electric ovens, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, shared use of tumble dryer in owners' utility, TV with Freeview, DVD, CD, WiFi, selection of books, games, DVDs etc. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburning stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate. Ample off road parking. Bike storage. Enclosed lawned garden to front and rear with furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 5 miles. River 3 mins walk. Note: The single sofa bed is suitable for a child up to the age of 10 years old.

Uig is a village at the northern tip of Skye offering two pubs, two shops and a hotel, along with a ferry terminal, where you can take a boat trip to the Western Isles.

"A gem of a cottage in a stunning part of Skye. Beautifully presented with everything we needed and more. Excellent attention to detail with a kind welcome pack, games and DVDs to play and a wood burning stove generously prepared. Ideally located for the Quirang and the ferry and only 20 minutes from Portree. Note there is no mobile reception (a good break on holiday), but there is WiFi. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by the hosts and loved our stay and visit to Skye."

"We have been to Skye twice a year for the past ten years and I can honestly say that this cottage is probably the best presented one in which we have stayed. Well worth the eleven hour drive with our two wee dogs. Gordon and Margaret should be rightly proud of this little gem. Clean, comfortable, warm and welcoming. The location is ideal for travelling round the north of the Island with Portree only a fifteen minute drive away and Uig only ten minutes away. It was nice to know that Gordon and Margaret were only next door if anything was needed but everything worked well. I was going to pass the details of this wonderful cottage on to my friends but decided against it, just in case they wanted to book the same time as me! We will definitely be back. Thanks."
"We loved this cottage. Well worth the 8 hour drive. Lovely owners who helped when asked and couldn't do enough for us. The Isle of Syke is a beautiful place with so many stunning places to visit. Gordon let us use some of the land to comfortably walk our dog off lead away from cattle. We appreciated that. A little word of warning the National Lottery funded walk across the river is great BUT please watch out for the 3 cows through the second gate! In summary we had a relaxing week but Gordon please sort out those noisy pipes from the log burner!"
"Our first trip to the Isle of Skye and we couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay. Very welcoming hosts Gordon and Margaret who have paid considerable attention to detail to ensure guests enjoy their cottage experience. Loved the woodburner in the evenings, watching the lambs playing outside and the stunning views. If you are thinkng of booking we highly recommend you do. If you want a remote and relaxing location you have found it."
"Trotternish cottage was well presented and decorated. It was warm and cosy on arrival, with the log fire prepared and ready to light. The owner met us at the door and was friendly and helpful. All appliances worked perfectly, and the wood burning stove was fantastic - we stuck on one large log and it kept the house warm all evening with no further coaxing required! Lovely, comfy beds too!! The cottage is in a peaceful location, well situated for visiting Uig, Portree and Dunvegan etc. There is a pretty garden, which would be ideal for a barbecue (provided) in good weather. If you like cats, there are some friendly ones on the farm that will come into the garden and socialise if invited! It should be noted that there is no mobile phone coverage at the house, though there is a phonebox down the street. If you want to get away from the rat race, this is a great place to stay. We had a great time, thanks!"
"Helpful on-site owners. Clean, comfortable house with appliances that worked well.2 bathrooms were a boon. Good beds. Quiet,cul de sac. Traditional house nicely renovated."
