Plas Y Ward Cottage

Rated 5/50 by on 27th July 2019

"We stayed 20 - 27 July 2019. The cottage and its location are perfect. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need and is well situated looking over farm fields towards the sea. The garden is large and secure. We have a two year old Beagle and it was perfect for him. The fence was just the right height to prevent him trying to climb over. He loved the freedom of the garden and was fascinated by the cows and rabbits in the adjoining field. We must apologise to the cows for all the howling and barking but he is a "townie" and it is the first time he has met such creatures! The cows regularly come to drink within feet of the garden. The whole area is superb for dogs. There is a path immediately outside the gate of the cottage which leads up on to the fells. Many more paths criss cross on the low hills and there are numerous permutations of routes to take, all within view of the sea. If your dog is good on recall, so much the better but even for a wandering ( deaf when he wants to be) Beagle there was a large secure field where he could run around to his heart's content. One thing to consider if you haven't been to the area before is that the Llyn Peninsula seems to have its own micro climate. While the rest of the country was sweltering on a couple of days last week, we were pleasantly warm, being cooled by the ever present wind. This wind is lovely and cool when the sun is out but be warned it can be chilly and sometimes downright cold when the sun is not out. There is no respite from the wind so be advised to pack a sweater or top coat to be on the safe side. This was easily the most enjoyable, comfortable, week we have spent on holiday in this country and I couldn't recommend it highly enough."
