Sophie's Retreat

Sophie's Retreat was rated 1/50 by on 16th July 2019

"This property is perfectly situated and has huge potential but unfortunately has been neglected, The courtyard and garden were overgrown and uninviting, odd bits of garden furniture were left around but nearly all of them were broken. Cupboards were black with mould (as was the window frames in the back bedroom) Expel air near the hot tub was broken, lights above the hot tub were rusty and did not work. The hot tub itself was cloudy and smelly and the hot tub area and the house smelled of damp. The kitchen cupboards and utensils were dirty, with great clumps of hair/fur in one of the drawers. The settee in the sitting room was very uncomfortable due to the springs having gone in both corners. Unsuitable for young children due to precarious staircase. Yes it is cheap but pay the extra or stay at home - it is dirty, damp and depressing"

"Lovely, comfortable and we'll equipped cottage for our recent week's stay. Perfectly placed to tour the locality. Lincoln, Boston both good to visit as are Aviation Heritage Centre and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. We received a very warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble, and Helen's wonderful meals are huge bonus."

Apartment 1 Runswick Lodge

Apartment 1 Runswick Lodge was rated 5/50 by on 31st July 2018

"My son and I had a lovely holiday here. We were both impressed by the apartment. It was beautifully maintained and furnished, with every convenience provided. We would recommend it to others, and would rent it again if we were staying in the area. We would not recommend the Runswick Bay hotel for food."

Bogairn

Bogairn was rated 5/50 by on 28th April 2017

"This was one of the nicest properties that we have stayed in. It is in a splendid location with lovely surroundings. views and places of interest including many distilleries ! It is quiet and peaceful with wildlife to look out for in the surrounding fields and , at this time of year , the lambs. The bungalow is very well equipped with all that you could want and more. It is cosy, very clean and well appointed. The furnishings are of good quality with comfortable seating and beds. The owners just across the way were welcoming and helpful. They checked to see if everything was all right but otherwise were unobtrusive , although on hand if we needed them. It was a delightful week with good weather ( woke up to snow on Tuesday ! ) but , if the weather is not too good there are plenty of properties and museums nearby to visit We would recommend a visit to Ballindalloch castle just down the road from Bogairn. It is a delight and so interesting with very friendly, helpful people. I have some mobility difficulties but this property was easy for me to access and move around in. We will certainly hope to visit again as there is still so much to see in this area. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Allen for a very pleasant stay."

Robins Nest

Robins Nest was rated 5/50 by on 24th April 2017

"The cottage at Robins nest is very welcoming. We have been many times and loved the peace and tranquility. In the heart of the countryside yet a short drive to wickham market for shops etc. The cottage is very comfortable, all sorts of wildlife can be watched from the conservatory where we have spent many happy hours with binoculars and coffees!"

The Old School

The Old School was rated 5/50 by on 12th October 2012

"The Old School is the most amazing holiday cottage with 5* fittings and fixtures, decor and facilities. It is spacious and comfortable for six people with more than enough of everything you could possibly need. The owner, Ros, is so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for her. The next door property Capel Pentwyn, also owned by Ros, is equally special, and the two together can cater for 11 people who can easily eat together in either property."

Kirklands

Kirklands was rated 5/50 by on 24th September 2010

"Kirklands is lovely. A really nice place to stay. It's got all of the mod-cons, and it has been well furnished. I was so impressed that I'd love to have a place like this of my own. Kirklands is on the main road of Scremerston, but it doesn't appear to be signed. It's on the same side as the village church, and is the end part of the building that's next to the church grounds - that building is the old vicarage. There are two entrances to the old vicarage's drive - Kirklands is best found by using the entrance furthest from the church. The local area is very beautiful. A great place if you want to get away from it all. Lindisfarne and Bamburgh are 15 minutes' drive away. The area boasts some of the most wonderful beaches in the country. Although, the North wind doth blow, so make sure you wrap up."

Ty Gwyn

Ty Gwyn was rated 5/50 by on 20th October 2012

"We have rented many holiday homes over the years and this is, without doubt, top of our list for value for money. The accommodation is very spacious and equipped to a very high but comfortable standard. It is 15 minutes walk from Haverfordwest centre with its variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. It is also in an ideal location to explore Pembrokeshire."

The Old Orchard

The Old Orchard was rated 5/50 by on 20th May 2011

"Beautiful cottage excellently presented and maintained with many personal touches, made to feel welcome and at home by the owners, beautiful location and had to tear ourselves away to explore the area as we had planned, could have quite easily have never left the cottage at all and didn't want to leave at the end of our stay. (but then again no don't want to recommend as it will become too popular and we'll never be able to get in again!!) Thankyou so much."

Kingrove Farm

Kingrove Farm was rated 5/50 by on 18th March 2011

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The location was perfect for us. We arrived at the farm at about 11 a.m after a long haul flight from Australia and were able to leave our luggage before setting off to get some groceries from the local shops. By the time we returned the cottage was ready for us - earlier than normal check in time, which was welcoming as we were completely exhausted and needed to give our children a chance to rest. The cottage is exceptionally comfortable. Warm for starters. The two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the cottage as were the two bathrooms offering great privacy for us from the kids, and this would make it ideal for adults that wished to share the cottage. The kitchen facilities are more than adequate. The area is very quiet and Chipping Sodbury is a picturesque village. The hosts at Bluebell Cottage are lovely and accommodating. Highly recommend Hoseasons as a company to deal with as well. Thank-you all for giving us a great start to our UK/European vacation."

Gosmount Hill Farm Cottages

"We stayed here due to wife breaking ankle, had to cancell holiday to spain. Booked this cottage as was all on one level. There is one step into cottage which Morag [owner] kindly made a sloping ramp for. Morag very helpfull with detailing events in area, cottage its self is very clean bright and has every thing you will need for a great stay. The beach hut is a great touch as well. The area is beautifull with lots to see and sights to visit. We will be going back again in near future. Morag not been doing this for long but attention to detail and cottage makes it like she is a real pro at this. 10 out of 10. .. thank you."

Seaview

Seaview was rated 5/50 by on 18th February 2011

"Would definitely recommend Cloverleaf cottage, it's small but very well thought out and includes everything you might need for your stay. I was impressed by the standard of all equipment and decoration, everywhere was fresh and spotlessly clean. The location is ideal for people looking for a restful break, a few yards away is access to the nature reserve with lovely bracing walks. The roads are very quiet and lots of lovely little villages and towns within a short drive. I'd definitely recommend Louth and Mablethorpe with its beautifully clean beach. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and justifiably proud of this lovely cottage."
