The Oaks is a detached country house situated in the village of Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria. Hosting 11 bedrooms, this property can sleep up to 25 people. Inside you will also find a ground floor cloakroom, 2 x WC's, a kitchen with sitting area, dining room (seats 25) with lounge area. Children's lounge, main lounge with electric stove effect fire, drawing room with wood-burning stove, main leisure suite with seating area and a sauna with walk-in showers. To the outside is off road parking for 10 cars and hot tubs on the main patio area overlooking the grounds. Situated in a picturesque location with much to explore in the nearby villages, The Oaks is a desirable cottage in an excellent part of England. Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

LPG central heating with woodburning stove and 2 x electric fires. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, ice maker, drinks cooler, tumble dryer, 4 x dishwashers, 3 x Smart TV with soundbar, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Additional fuel for stove on collection from on-site store. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair only available on request. Allocated off road parking for 10 cars by the main entrance. Additional parking available at main car park approx 150 yards away. Undercover lockable bike rack. Spacious grounds with patio, gardens, furniture and 2 x hot tubs. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops 1.3 miles, pub 1 mile. Note: Check-in 5pm. Note: Community library of books and games available free of charge at site office. Note: Strictly no stag/hen or similar. Note: This property only accepts a check in on a Friday or Monday

Providing a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, the twin towns of Bowness and Windermere have an enduring appeal for many visitors to the Lake District. Boat trips are available from Bowness to Ambleside, as well as to the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Nearby is Grizedale Forest Park which offers good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure playground. There are also a variety of water sports available across the many beaches.

"We visited he lakes again this year and decided to book The Oaks as so many of the family wanted to come along. The house suited us perfectly. The sauna and hot tubs were utilised every day and with such a central location there was something for all ages within a short walking distance. We had family from 80 years old to 18 months and the house was amazing. The floor plans on the website helped us plan before we arrived and Lorna was so much help. Will look to book again next year!"
"Great house for a large family. We have been to the lakes manner times and this house suited us the best! Fabulous kitchen which became the hub of the house, not forgetting the hot tubs, sauna, fabulous views, the lake within walking distance, excellent sound system, movie TVs, loads of sitting room areas and of course the dining table to seat more than 25 people. We will definitely be returning to the lakes in 2020! Thank you Lorna for your hospitality, quick response to questions & humour. See you next year!"
"This place is absolutely amazing! Lots of space for kids to run and explore, waking up and looking out your windows to the views is amazing, so relaxing and peaceful, beds are so comfy had a greats night sleep every night!, the hot tubs are excellent! Only thing I would recommend is maybe insect/wasp repellent as there was lots of wasps in the house I could not fault anything! Would definitely recommend and stay again Kind regards The Newberrys"
"The Oaks is a beautiful house for a holiday stay. With lovely clean rooms, a huge kitchen central to the house, plenty of lounge areas to relax and hot tubs and sauna for a touch of luxury this accommodation really is special. Despite its massive size, the house is immaculately maintained - with decor that mixes the modern with the traditional. Our family had a fantastic week in honour of my late wife, who booked and organised this trip for us. What a great call she made. Will be definitely looking to book The Oaks again next year should we decide to return to Bowness for another get together."
