With the amenities of Newport within walking distance, and wonderful countryside to discover along with fishing, Achill Island, Castlebar and more, Church View makes a wonderful County Mayo base for a memorable holiday. The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Ample off road parking. Bicycle (only) storage in private garage. Lawned garden to side. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 10 mins walk. property also houses a bicycle shed to the rear of the property shed also contains a fridge freezer all for use by guests. Note: Complimentary 2 day family pass for a local hotel in Westport for swimming and a gym, included in the price.

The small harbour village of Newport in County Mayo is situated along the shores of Clew Bay. Watersports and fishing, as well as walks and cycle routes are available in the area, and there are shops, pubs and restaurants in the village.

"This is the perfect small cottage - immaculately presented and with personal attention from its owner Paddy Costello, himself something of a local legend. A short walk to the pubs, cafes and good shops of Newport, which is largely unspoiled by tourism but is a short drive from the great tourist sites of the area, such as Achill Island and Croagh Patrick. We particularly enjoyed the Ballycroy national park - admittedly helped by lovely weather! Don't miss the Harry Clarke stained glass windows in the Newport RC church."
"Spent a week here in May. The description did not do it justice. The views across the valley towards the mountains is fantastic. The cottage had everything we needed and was ideally situated for touring the area. The Greenway is on the doorstep so ideal for cyclists/walkers. Will definitely coming back next year."
"Very conveniently placed for Newport and surrounding area. Cottage is well equipped, warm and welcoming. Very friendly owner who will welcome you to visit Ashford Castle as well. Quiet situation off the main road but walkable into Newport. Perfect if you want to explore north mayo or fish the many fisheries in the area. Shed outside is perfect for wet gear. Lots of nice places to eat locally from brilliant fish and chips to gourmet dinners at Newport House. Great music in town at Grauine Uaile."
"Wonderful cottage in a lovely location. The cottage is well equipped and warm. Plenty of hot water and lovely log burner for those cold evenings. Plenty of outside space. The kitchen is well equipped if I was being really picky it's lacking a decent sharp knife! Paddy makes you feel very welcome. Newport itself is great plenty of pubs and shops within walking distance and lots of great places to visit in a short distance."
