Outside, there is ample off road parking and a large decked patio with furniture. Derwent Cottage is a wonderful holiday base. The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

The town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers' markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists.

"We have just returned from a week at this absolutely beautiful cottage, it is even better than the pictures. From the moment we arrived we felt instantly relaxed, the views are out of this world and the cottage itself was just perfect and we felt so at home. We really didn't want to leave and would 100% return and recommend. The accommodation is very spacious and the hot tub was amazing and so relaxing after a day out. The host was very friendly and helpful providing knowledge of the area. Could not find one single fault we had an amazing week away."
"We stayed in the cottage for 7 nights, lovely and clean....lovely and comfortable although it was a wet few nights we didn't need to light the wood burner as the cottage was warm.... the hot tub was amazing and used every night. Two slight downsides... as the people pass to the next cottage they can see into the hot tub and the garden could benefit from a strim and a path clear. But that said we will recommend the cottage and we would not hesitate to book again."
