A beautifully restored terraced cottage, situated on the main village road through Cromford in the Peak District, with two bedrooms accommodating three people. Over three floors. Two bedrooms: 1 x second floor double, 1 x single. Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Kitchen. Sitting room with dining area and gas woodburner-effect stove.
Calamine Cottage is a wonderful, terraced cottage that has been beautifully restored while retaining many of its original features, including beams, shutters and an ornamental fireplace up cottage stairs in the double bedroom. As well as a double bedroom on the second floor, with beautiful views over the village, there is also a single bedroom and a shower room on the first floor. The sitting room is downstairs, with a dining area and access to the kitchen and a courtyard. The courtyard is to the rear of the property with garden furniture, and 34 steps lead up to a patio with beautiful views to the hills beyond. Calamine Cottage is close to the High Peak Trail, ideal for walks and cyclists.

Roadside parking. Rear courtyard with furniture, plus rear patio accessed via 34 steps. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops and pubs 2 mins walk. Note: Rear patio is accessed by 34 steps. Note: Property set on main village road, some associated noise may be heard. Note: Children over five years only.

"Partner and myself stayed in this beautiful cottage in the center of Cromford. Great location for transport and road links. Beautiful and peaceful location. Close to the local mills and some great walks too. Within walking distance to Matlock Bath and Matlock. Cottage itself is lovely inside and out. Well equipped and to a high standard. Jill the owner was quick in responding to any questions we had. Will certainly stay again some time soon."
"Lovely cottage,beautifully restored with lots of character; good value with separate kitchen and two bedrooms plus shower room. Very comfortable with central heating which makes all the difference. Steep stairs (there are 3 floors) make it unsuitable for young children or people with disabilities and parking is on the road-but not a problem; only minor quibble is traffic noise from lorries which seem to be a feature of Cromford and surrounding area.Cromford itself has plenty to offer both for food and history of the mills and lead mining. Recommend Parky's for breakfast and evening meals; Greyhound if you want to go upmarket. We did a lot of walking but also Heights of Abraham-expensive if you have a family but interesting;Matlock Bath is pretty down at heel though popular with bikers; recommend f'Coffee which does great shakes and the most amazing cakes and brownies."
