Barn Cottage is a very welcoming semi-detached barn conversion, in the village of Hinderwell. There is a double, a twin and a single bedroom, plus a family bathroom on the first floor. Downstairs is a kitchen, a sitting room with a dining area and a large conservatory with furniture and a door to the rear patio. There is off road parking outside the cottage. Barn Cottage is close to the village amenities, and makes a great family base for exploring the moors and coast. The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Shop and pub 2 mins walk. Beach 1 mile. Note: The access lane to the property leads to a small caravan park.

Hinderwell is a small, lively village close to the fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay. Hinderwell was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Hildrewell, a derivation of Hilda's Well, named for the Abbess of Whitby who was travelling through the parish in a drought and was asked to intercede. Her prayers were answered when a spring appeared near the sight of the present Parish Church, and this spring has continued to flow from the hillside to this day. The village is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful countryside, and walks, cycle ways, gliding, horse riding and fishing are all well catered for in the area. Whitby is seven miles away and the town has a rich and varied heritage waiting to be discovered. This is a fabulous holiday base.

Runswick bay beach became a favourite evening walk and barn cottage was a perfect venue to explore one of ny favourite regions. Highly recommended, with a lovely welcome from the management too :)"

The owners have equipped the cottage beautifully and give you a great welcome from their own free range eggs to lovely tea and coffee selections so you immediately felt at home. Hinderwell itself is a great location with walks right from your doorstep and although we were well blown about by the wind it February it did not spoil our appreciation and enthusiasm for this beautiful coast - we will definitely return."
"A superb cottage probably the best equipped we have ever stayed in furnished and equipped to the very highest standards far higher than normal for a holiday let. The enclosed garden was a real bonus for the dog and the conservatory great for sitting with a glass of wine as the sun sets. The village is well catered for with two pubs village shop and butchers all within 3 min walk both pubs welcoming and dog friendly. Local bus stop at end of lane with frequent service to Whitby. All in all a great stay I would highly recommend to all."
