Village placed between the North Pennines AONB and Newcastle upon Tyne, not far from Gateshead's greenbelt. Rowlands Gill hosts a supermarket, three restaurant/takeaways, and more. On the outskirts of the village is the National Trust owned Gibside Park and gardens. Nature lovers can venture into the North Pennines AONB, with a number of paths and trails to walk and cycle. Newcastle provides shopping and eating facilities as well as a wealth of museums.
