There is also a bathroom as well as an open-plan living room with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. To the outside is roadside parking for one car (permit provided by owner), with additional roadside parking for one car available and access to shops, pubs and restaurants within a couple of minutes' walk. Ropes offers a quality break the year-round. The Home Counties comprise the counties that surround London and include Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex and Middlesex. Although mostly built up, they include some fabulous scenery and attractions which are well worth a visit.

Colchester is a historic town in Essex, claimed to be the oldest town in Britain. Colchester is 50 miles northeast of London with links by road and by rail, less than 50 minutes from London Liverpool Street station. The River Colne runs through the town, leading to Mersea Island, home to the Colchester native oyster.
