"Bad points No 'starter pack' left for the log burner as advertised. Not even any matches. The creaky floorboards in the bedroom aren't endearing. They are simply loud and not fixed down next to the fireplace making it impossible to exit the room quietly. There is an ill fitting wooden door between the two bedrooms that removes all semblance of privacy. The garden is technically surrounded by wall and fence, but a small dog could fit through the gaps and a big dog would just jump over. Our collies were fine as they are reasonably obedient, but it would have been a different matter should sheep have been next door. One morning our peace was shattered just as I was about to have a shower by gardeners entering the garden with a ride on mower and strimmer to eviscerate the sodden, already short for this time of year grass. No knock on the door to announce themselves and when I suggested that would have been courteous I was told people had normally left for the day. Excuse me for relaxing on my holiday. The grass was left far too short given the weather and they took great clods off in places. Most of the windows have no curtains. The shower is an economy electric one so whilst you have guaranteed hot water it is far from a power shower. Good points It's not luxury accommodation so we didnt feel uncomfortable having the dogs there. The internet and TV work ok, as do all appliances in the kitchen Its 5 minutes walk to the local shop, and 10 minutes in to Hay itself. Lots of birds and wildlife to look out at. Bed, towels etc all clean."
