Pickering is a market town on the southern fringes of the North York Moors National Park. The town itself is lined with charming buildings which host a range of different shops and eateries, it is also home of the North York Moors Railway and Pickering Castle. As well as the Moors, you can visit popular spots such as Malton and Kirkbymoorside, or perhaps head to the coast with popular resorts such as Scarborough easily reachable.

"We really enjoyed our recent stay at Myrtle Cottage. A nice touch from the owners to leave a welcome note and biscuits as well as milk in the fridge. Be prepared for it being a bit cold downstairs even with the central heating on at night- the wood burner in the living room is great and heated up the place in no time though. 2 minute walk from the heritage railway station and a fantastic selection of local independent shops. There's also the Beck Isle museum and Pickering Castle and a 10 minute drive to Flamingo Land makes this a great base for visiting the surrounding a area."
