The Afon Wen river runs through the village of Chwilog and down to the sea, just one mile away. A short drive away, Criccieth is a delightful seaside town with a 13th century castle with views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. Watersports enthusiasts will be delighted by the towns two beaches, whilst walkers and bikers are impressed by the proximity of the Snowdonia National Park. Caernarfon Castle, and renowned golf courses of the Llyn Peninsula are all within an easy drive.

"Externally 5 Glan Y Wern doesn't look much. You can park immediately outside the front door in a quiet little road that leads into the countryside. But it's better to unload and load there and the park in the ample and free parking round the back. But open the front door and you discover a small but beautifully updated cottage that retains many old characteristics and features. It's suitable only for two guests, a couple, and a dog, but it had everything we could think of or need. Despite being so small it felt deceptively spacious, intimate and cosy. The web pictures show it exactly as it is inside, bright, clean and characterful. We really liked it. There's not much in Chwilog but the cottage is a great base and it is not far to Criccieth or Pwllheli the other way. There's a bus stop only about 40 yards away for those who want to use public transport. And a pub (that we didn't try) less than 100 yards away. All in all we thought this cottage was great value for money and we would definitely recommend it for anyone who doesn't have to have a view out of the front window,"
