The Old Byre is a charming detached cottage next to a farmhouse on the edge of Dartmoor near Dousland. The cottage sleeps two people in one bedroom with bathroom. On the ground floor are a sitting room with wood burning stove and sliding doors to a patio and a kitchen with dining area, plus WC. Outside is a patio with furniture and barbecue and shared gardens with wildlife pond and boules pitch. Less than a mile from the village pub in Dousland and ten miles from Plymouth, The Old Byre is an excellent base for touring Dartmoor, Devon and Cornwall. Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

The pretty village of Yelverton makes a perfect base for exploring Dartmoor with excellent walking and cycling routes in the area. The 21 mile-long cycling and walking route Drake's Trail, runs through the village and links nearby Tavistock and Plymouth passing through wooded valleys and open moorland.
