Pub 4 miles, post office/general store at Colvend 1.5 miles away, Dalbeattie is 6 miles.

The village of Dalbeattie is renowned for its outdoor activities with the world famous 7stanes mountain biking complex nearby as well as forest walks in Glentrool. Dalbeattie and the surrounding area offer panoramic views of the Solway Firth, the Lake District and the Galloway Hills. A great location, which has something for everyone.

"Never got to visit Burnside as our booking was cancelled less than 24 hours before our break was due to start. Sykes cottages advised us this was due to an ongoing maintenance issue that the owners had been trying to resolve for 2 weeks, yet left it until last minute to cancel. Poor customer service from owner and agent."
