Swallowdale is a characterful one bedroom cottage sleeping two located in Matterdale near Ullswater. Perfect for couples. One bedroom: 1 x double. Bathroom with freestanding bath, basin and WC. Kitchen with small dining area. Sitting room.
Swallowdale is a barn conversion on private farmland overlooking the neighbouring fells of Matterdale. The cottage sleeps two people in its one bedroom, a double room with king size bed with a character bathroom with freestanding bath. The ground floor has a kitchen and a large sitting room with floor to ceiling glass entrance door and windows. Outside offers access to the owner's fields, with bench seating and a small garden area and off road parking for one car. Located on the hillside of the Matterdale countryside, this beautifully finished barn conversion is just a short walk from the Aira Force waterfall. A delightful retreat for couples. Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

The village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed.

"We had a very pleasant relaxing stay at Swallowdale. A sympathetic yet stylish barn conversion in a secluded, stunning fell view location. One can ramble to their hearts content, right up to the garden gateway, and return home to bathe in the rolltop bath to rest those weary feet. The hosts are warm and friendly but leave you to it at the same time, great pride has been taken into making the farm and garden a wonderful and welcome haven, and as a result, the birds, bees and red squirrels can't keep away "
