"The first impression you get when arriving at this beautiful lodge are the amazing views. We were warmly welcomed by Alison and Scamp (the gorgeous patterdale terrier). The lodge is fantastic with everything you possibly want. The lodge was spotlessly clean when we arrived and its obvious a lot of work goes into their upkeep. The bed was lovely and comfortable and we slept really well. The walk-in rain shower and large shower cubicle was great (I'm normally picky about bathrooms). The kitchen was fitted with every utensil and implement you could need and I can see every detail is planned, even down to the Denby pottery. The garden was great especially having sheep in the next field with their lambs. Chester our cockapoo loved watching the lambs play. The floor to ceiling windows with great views across to the mountains made us excited every morning to pull up the blinds and look out at the scenery. We were made to feel very welcome, Alison and Gordon are great hosts, very friendly and knowledgable. The location of the lodge is great for touring around. Keswick is 25 minutes away with Buttermere and Grasmere less than an hour. Its also less than an hour to the Scottish border so there are so many places within easy reach. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lodge to anyone, and we definitely plan to return soon!"

"Just stayed at Carrock Lodge in the Paddigill Lodges for two days with my son, his wife and our beautiful granddaughter who are there for the week. They are repeat visitors and I can see why. The Lodge is everything you could ask for, very well equipped, clean and modern, in the most beautiful and remote Lakeland location and run by people who care about detail and look after their customers. We enjoyed it so much that we will be looking to book this Lodge for sometime next Spring. The facilities are superb and everything is top quality with a luxury feel. Really fantastic value for money too, especially for the Lake District."

"We arrived after a seven hour journey from Somerset to a warm welcome from Alison and the wood burner burning warmly. The lodge has everything you could wish for and more. It's comfortable and warm and cosy with surely the best views in the area. We quickly got attached to the numerous lambs outside which were great entertainment in themselves. We walked down into the village chatting to locals on our way. It's perfectly situated within easy reach of Keswick and more and it was lovely to get back after a busy day to relax in the peace and quiet of this tranquil haven. We will miss it all. We look forward to returning next year. We're spoilt for anywhere else now."

"Fabulous holiday lodge full of beautiful items and equipment. I am a picky person and cannot think of one thing that was not delightful here. Alison & Gordon were friendly, welcoming and 'on hand' had we needed them. But left us alone to enjoy our adoptive home for the week - in fact were perfect hosts. We found the lodge so interesting, from the decorating, decorative touches, photographs, books, films. magazine and even a beautiful fireside blanket for times cuddling on the sofa as the wood burner burned down. The kitchen was equipped with the best quality utensils from copper bottomed pans to Denby crockery - such a treat. The lodges look out onto the open views -not overlooked at all. So getting up in the morning we were excited to see what the weather had done to our amazing view over night. We and our dog loved Scamp too! She is like a little, quick, black sheep with flying paws and a bright and friendly personality. We shall remember our week with affection and will be back we are sure! P.S. The farm is within The Lake District National Park - this wasn't crystal clear from the marketing."

"We received a lovely warm welcome on arrival from the owners (and Scamp the dog) who were friendly and helpful. It was important to us that pets were welcome too. The lodge is really comfortable and well equipped and spotlessly clean. It was really nice having towels included too and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. The view from the lodge is beautiful, overlooking the fells and the location is quiet and peaceful. Perfect for a relaxing break. The location is ideal for visiting northern lakes attractions and southern Scotland. We would certainly like to return. The only comment I would make which is not glowing is that there are a number of steps leading up to the lodge which may not suit everyone."

"We stopped for a week the beginning of September 2015, had a great stay. The lodge we stayed in was brilliant, modern, clean with all you need at hand. The views out over the valley were fantastic. We took our Boxer dog, who made friends with their dog. It's 5 minutes drive to caldbeck and about 30 minutes from Keswick. The couple who run the farm were really helpful and friendly. We had a fantastic stay, would go again and recommend."

"We stayed at carrock for 4 nights with out cocker spaniel. Alison who owns the farm was lovely. So friendly and helpful. As was scamp her dog, our dog took to her so she was always about. The inside of the lodge was beautiful, all done to a very high spec, everything you needed. Really amazing place the rainfall walk in shower was my husbands favourite. Mine was the beautiful wood burner. The view was stunning look up at high pike, it was isomer hint you wouldn't tire of seeing. I would give the lodge 10/10 The owners 10/10 Views 10/10 Thee wasn't anything I could say against it. Will be going back soon."

"Extremely high quality lodge with wonderful views down valley & over nearby hills. In quiet location on farm with just the 2 lodges and farm house near-by so ideal break away from any hustle & bustle. Only the sheep/lambs and cows to 'disturb the peace'. Alison and Gordon were very friendly and welcoming, but not as friendly as Scamp their dog!! She loves any attention you give her. As its right at the north of the Lake District its away from the normal crowds & hotspots so is ideal for exploring the quieter areas but still close enough to access the busier areas too. Caldbeck village is a bit of a walk away - downhill going but quite a steep hill back - but there is a bit of a shortcut through the fields that makes a nice walk."
