"Had a most enjoyable week in this very cosy flat. It was very well equipped with everything we needed. The decor was lovely and very clean. The flat is very central so you can just leave the car (own space at the rear) and walk everywhere. Will definitely stay again."

"Stylish and well-equipped, it has everything you'll need. Right in the heart of Ambleside, lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. We loved sitting at the table by the window with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and do some people watching. Zeffirelli's next door with live music and great vegetarian food is also worth mentioning."

"Once again, a wonderful and comfortable stay in his great little apartment in the heart of Ambleside (not Amble as stated in the heading!). Having parked the car (which despite the warnings is perfectly straightforward) we bought bus passes for the week and were able to forget about traffic jams and parking spaces for the entire holiday. It worked out brilliantly for walking too. Anyway, staying in Tom Heights is a delight. The comfortable bed, compact layout, well-equipped kitchen and lovely, bright living room make for a really relaxed holiday. There are several great pubs and restaurants nearby. The proximity to Zeffirelli's cinema and restaurant is a particular bonus. We love Tom Heights and we'll definitely be returning."

"Right in the centre of Ambleside but with parking so we could leave the car and walk. Well equipped rental and clean and comfortable. We needed a flexible start date so this was great to find. Traffic was noisy in a morning but we are early risers and got out before the crowds - especially important if we wanted to use the car. Ambleside is central for lots of lovely walks to suit all abilities and various attractions including some interesting National Trust properties"

"This is definitely the hidden gem of Ambleside. Tastefully decorated, well equipped and comfortable. We were a little put off at first because of previous comments about parking. We have a 4x4 and reversed into the parking spot with no trouble. Very handy for restaurants, pubs and cinema. We would stay again if we return to Ambleside."

"Thanks for accommodating us at short notice. We had a hugely enjoyable stay in this cosy apartment for two. It was well equipped and comfortably furnished, and decorated in warm colours that are rare to see these days, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The Persian rug in the lounge was such a delight, we're now looking for one similar! Tom Heights was so well situated we didn't really need the car once parked, and we found the flat surprisingly peaceful given the town centre location. A particular bonus was having Zefirellis 'vegeterranean' restaurant so close. We'll be back soon I hope."

"Second time staying here in 18 months. Fell in love with this cute, clean and cosy getaway the first time round and just had to come back. Perfect location for walks and eating/drinking in Ambleside. Well furnished, always clean with well equipped kitchen. With the addition of wifi since our first stay we couldn't ask for me, it has everything we need for a week away. We will definitely be returning in the future!"

"My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights during August and had a great time. The apartment was perfectly sized for 2 people and beautifully decorated making it feel very homely. On arrival the place was spotlessly clean and we even found a bottle of red left for us which was a great touch. The kitchen had all the appliances needed if you fancied cooking at home and the lounge had great books and maps for recommended hikes and activities. Location was perfect - right in the centre of town with both supermarkets only a few minutes walk and a nice coffee shop opposite for morning coffee runs. Ambleside itself is a lovely little town with lots of nice pubs, cafes and shops. Only thing to be aware of is the tight parking around the back, manoeuvring in and out of the space was quite a hassle if all the other spaces were full so need to be careful - would not recommend driving a 4x4 in there! Other than that, really enjoyed my holiday there and would definitely come back!"

"We stayed at Tom Heights from the 14-17 Feb for a long weekend. We loved our stay here and if we were to visit ambleside again we would definitely check to see if this apartment was available! It is a very cosy apartment with everything you could possibly need included. It is in a great location, right in the centre of town with plenty to see and do around you! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thank you for the bottle of wine!!!"

"Next door to Zeffirellis in the heart of ambleside, this is a beautifully decorated flat, very cosy and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped (although we ate out every evening of our long weekend).Parking very tight but very convenient - we didn't need to move the car - walking from ambleside each day."

"A lovely one bedroomed flat situated right in the centre of ambleside. A well-equipped kitchen and bathroom made for an enjoyable holiday. We loved sitting at the table in the window and watching the world go by. It wasn't necessary to cook as there was plenty of choice of restaurants and cafes. Ideal accommodation for exploring the ambleside area. We didn't move our car for the three days as we could go walking from the flat."

"Flat was very nice, well appointed and in a good location close to the shops. It was clean and comfortable."

"Booking was easy, directions good to find the place. The apartment was very central, clean and comfortable it's a pitty the public areas of the building let it down, they could all do with a make over. The description of the flat stated that all towels were provided but there were only 1 bath and 1 hand towel available, which was not enough for 2 adults for a weeks stay. The kitchen was very nice but could have done with more crockery and cutlery to make using the dishwasher more worthwhile, it's very wasteful to put it on after almost every meal only half full. We never used the shared washing facilities, that area was very damp and uninviting to have to spend time waiting for the washing to finish, there would be room in the kitchen to fit a washer/dryer without loosing too much cupboard space. The car parking space was a nightmare to manouver in and out of, the old gate post makes the entrance/exit very narrow, we found it easier to back in so that we could drive out, as the lane behind the property is busy. The dining area was great for 'people watching' and it was great being right in the middle of ambleside, there are plenty of restaurants, pubs, coffee shops etc. on the door step. We had a great week, we walked everyday except one, several of them straight from the door so no need to find car parking."

"The property as a whole was nice and had a fantastic location. However the bathroom was very disappointing and urgently needs a re-fit. The entrance areas to the apartment were quite shabby as well, but we did like the remaining rooms in the apartment."

"Everything we needed for a walking base. Apartment well equipt and cosy but hallways and back entrance not so inviting. The need to unlock three doors to access apartment from street was quite a challenge."

"Convenient location, not too noisy. Detail of where to collect key could be better and car park space was better located than we had been told. Acommodation good though bathroom a bit dated (but don't get rid of bath!)"

"Tom Heights is a lovely little apartment with all you need for a stay away. It is in the perfect location for the lakes with great walks and restaurants on the doorstep. The road was a little noisy in the mornings and the parking space was quite tight but we had a great stay overall."
