Sleeping four in one double and one twin bedroom, Stable Cottage has a downstairs cloakroom and upstairs family bathroom. There's a bright and airy sitting room and a dining kitchen, a private patio and shared use of a large, lovely lawned garden. Off road parking for two cars is provided and it's a short walk to the pretty village of Pooley Bridge with its bars, restaurants and shops. The ideal location for a family holiday in the spellbinding Lake District at any time of year, Stable Cottage has all the benefits of a quiet cottage location with all the fun of a holiday park! Pooley Bridge has traditional village inns, cafes and shops. The surrounding area is home to numerous quaint Lakeland villages scattered along the shores of Lake Ullswater and Aira Force is a dramatic waterfall cascading into the lake below. Sharrow Bay Hotel is only a short drive away for the ultimate in dining and is renowned the world over or a trip over Kirkstone Pass brings you into Ambleside where there is an abundance of shops, pubs and restaurants. The historic market town of Penrith is within 5 miles and has numerous shops, a heated indoor swimming pool, golf course and driving range.

"Stayed here as an emergency alternative to camping. The staff at the campsite were really friendly and helpful. It is good, very spacious and clean. Close to all the places you want to visit and plenty of walks from your doorstep. Shop and plenty of pubs to choose from in the town for dinner. Some bits are a bit basic, no coasters, placemats and i was always brought up not to put hot things on wooden surfaces. We used most of the equipment we had brought for camping such as tin foil, cling film,washing up liquid, scourer, hand soap in the toilets The shower was just about adequate as no pressure behind it. No clothes airer to dry out your walking gear and no radiators as its heated by storage heaters and an electric fire in lounge We have paid similar prices elsewhere and had better facilities. Never stayed in a cottage where you have to strip your own bed and leave laundry in foyer. That said, the bed was comfy, the garden was nice with a BBQ, there is a dishwasher and washing machine and the cottage was spotless. We would stop here again, but we now know what to take with us to avoid an extra shop"
