"We've been up to Chapel Stile a number of times over the past few years, and Plumblands has probably been the best rental we've stayed in. Location-wise it's great, on the edge of the village it's a little bit quieter than right in the centre but it's still only a short walk from the shop, pub, etc. Being on the edge of the village you're able to escape up the valley at ease. Beds were comfortable, decor pleasant and the whole place had a very easy and clean feel to it. Would definitely look to stay here again."

"Booking and instructions were easy. The cottage was well equipped to a high standard, especially the kitchen and shower room. The five of us had a great time relaxing in the evenings after a hard day cycling, kayaking and walking. The local co-op shop had everything you could need and only 600m from the cottage.Thing i liked best was that there is so much to see and do in the area you can leave the car on the drive for most of the holiday."

"Ideal location. Various walks in the delightful Langdale valley from the door. Wainwrights pub 5 min walk. Cottage more than adequate with all that one would need. Wi-fi available (although we were told when booking that it was not). Would definitely return. Only down side is busy road outside front door, so need to take care with small children. Also had to clean windows on arrival as they were filthy."

"Well appointed, comfortable, warm very homely. Good location, though on a road it is not at all busy. Easy parking for 2 cars. Would stay here again."

"We had a wonderful week at Plumblands - the autumn weather was just arriving but the cottage was plenty warm enough, it has wonderful views and walks right from the front door whatever the weather. The cottage has everything that you would expect; however it is not great for families with toddlers - there are loads of steep stairs and lots of electric sockets with trailing cables."

"We arrived at Plumblands late in the evening and it was great knowing that we had access to the property without disturbing anyone. Once unpacked with bed rooms chosen we were all asleep in no time. The accommodation is very comfortable, I found the kitchen quite well stocked with equipment as we cooked in most nights this was great. Location was good, we had two challenges for the week, Helvellyn and Scaffell; if anything the drive to scaffell was a little long and yes we could have walked to it, but with teenagers?? I think not. We would like to revisit and do some more local walking as the views of the fells and mountains close by are stunning, even in the rain. We only visited the local pub for drinks, it was always busy so am assuming the food must have been okay, and village shop is well stocked. Can reccommend the Pub at the end of Langdale (next to National Trust carpark)food and ales very nice. All in all we and our boys 19, 15 and 12 were all chilled after our stay at Plumblands, (freeview tv helped) and as anyone who has teenagers knows if they are happy then parents are happy."

"Take your wellys and a rain mack and some good walking boots. Loads to do and plenty of places to visit. Great pint of ale at the Wainwrights Inn, 2 mins walk from the house."

"Lovely location. Lovely cottage. Though really should have had towels for the price. Whilst we really enjoyed our stay and did think it was wonderful it wasn't quite the number of stars it was given nor quite merited the price. 1. Ill stocked kitchen - difficult to make cakes etc.. 2. Cream carpet - some food in it (a bit of dried rice so nothing astoundingly bad but was a bit substandard for a four star place) 3.Beds were extremely soft (though this is probably a question of preference.) 4. Rooms were small for the price. We did however love it and think it was wonderful. Just some hopefully helpful feedback. Thanks Ciara"
