Heron Cottage is a lovely cottage set on a working farm in Watermouth near Berrynarbor in Devon and can sleep five people. There is a double bedroom, a family room with three single beds, a bathroom, a kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area. Outside there is off road parking for one car, a private courtyard with furniture, a shared private beach 500 yards away and a shared picnic area, dog exercise field and playground. Heron Cottage is an ideal holiday base. Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

The village of Berrynarbor is ideally placed at the end of the wonderful Sterridge Valley. The village is surrounded by woodlands and farms. The narrow streets are beautifully lined with cottages, gardens and floral displays. This part of Devon is also designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, perfect for walkers and birdwatchers, due to the coastal cliffs and rugged landscape. The North Devon Coastal Path is also an essential part of your holiday if you enjoy walking. The coastal towns and villages of Illfracombe, Combe Martin, Barnstaple and Woolacombe are only a short drive away. This area of North Devon is in a beautiful part of the country and a region that the whole family will enjoy all year round.

"We stayed here as a family of three, 2 adults and 1 child. I found the location to be very convenient with Ilfracombe just down the road and Watermouth Castle two minutes the other way. The cottage was clean and well kept, cosy and welcoming. My only downside was the downstairs bathroom and the creaky single beds in the triple room (solved by pulling away from the wall a bit). The private beach is a great asset - I would've liked it to be clearer that we could borrow stuff to sit on though as I was only told this after I'd left! The animals are a bonus. We appreciated the welcome cream tea - but gave the eggs we'd been given away to the neighbour as we don't eat them. The neighbour had been told by the owners that they could have more eggs if they wanted but I never met the owner once while we were there. I'd happily stay here again in the future though, such a lovely spot!"
