The village of Alnmouth is a favourite destination for golfing and fishing enthusiasts, as the area boasts a links course and several fine rivers. There are also miles of sandy beaches featuring the Northumbrian sand dunes. Alnmouth is situated between the River Aln and the North Sea, and was at one time the port for Alnwick. Besides a wealth of natural beauty, the village offers a number of shops, pubs and restaurants.

"Lesbury is a lovely unspoilt village, with a super inn for food and drinks, one door away from the cottage which is perhaps a little too convenient!! There is little post office with lots of lovely 'bits' to tempt you and the essential morning papers and fresh milk. The cottage really could not be any better, immaculate and tastefully decorated, Sue really has thought of everything. The village is so well situated for all destinations on the Northumberland coast so everywhere is reachable. Would love to return one day"
