Annan, a former harbour, is on the banks of the River Annan in Dumfries and Galloway and is steeped in history. The area has pretty towns, villages and hamlets, plus coastline with beaches and coves. Visit Caerlaverock Castle or Annandale Distillery. The city of Carlisle is within driving distance and is worth a visit.
