A stone-built cottage set on the outskirts of Allendale in Northumberland that can sleep three people in one bedroom. One ground floor double bedroom with en-suite bath with bath, hand-held shower, basin and WC. First floor open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and a sitting area with a woodburner. External shared drying room. Note: There is an additional single bed on request from owner suitable for a child up to 12 years only.
Dove Cottage is a stone-built cottage located in the town of Allendale in Northumberland. It has one double bedroom which has an en-suite bathroom, the cottage can sleep three people with an additional single bed available on request for a child under 12 years. Also inside Dove Cottage, you can find an open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a woodburner and a bread oven. To the outside sits ample off road parking, a shared drying room and an enclosed front lawn with a table and chairs. Dove Cottage is a fantastic little cottage in the idea spot for a peaceful countryside break.

Fuel, power and starter pack for fire inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Highchair and travel cot available on request. Ample off road parking. Bike storage. Front enclosed lawn with furniture. Two well-behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops, cafes and pubs 1.25 miles. Note: Care to be taken downstairs due to low beamed ceilings. Note: There is a small stream in the area, pets and children to be supervised. Note: Max 2 adults and one child under 12 years. Note: This property has a private water supply which is regularly tested.

Allendale is an ancient parish and was once at the centre of the lead mining industry. There are still many reminders of its industrial past today, but the town has now become an attractive tourist spot in the centre of some spectacular scenery. The town is very well positioned to take advantage of the many top class tourist attractions this area has to offer and also the beautiful scenic countryside around. The city of Carlisle and the historic town of Hexham are nearby and the famous Hadrian's Wall is only a short distance away. There are many unspoiled walks to discover, along with the Heritage Coast and the Northumberland National Park. The area is just waiting to be explored and is a delight all year round. A fabulous place for a family holiday.

"Lovely traditional cottage, with many original features, as well as all mod cons, very cosy with log burner, and warm heating, excellent modern kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, comfy bed and modern bathroom, all fitted to a very high standard. Great location, short drive from the picturesque village, amazing views from the property, plenty of walks and places to explore locally, but also a great spot to use as a base for the areas other attractions, very peaceful and relaxing place, we enjoyed our albeit too short stay, Barry the host is extremely welcoming and friendly, a great source of local info, the cottage is welcoming with locally produced cakes, butter , milk and tea on arrival, will definitely return next time we go to this lovely part of England."
"Lovely cottage owned by a lovely couple. We were made to feel very welcome, the cottage has everything you need in a great location. Plenty of great walks in the area and Allendale has a great selection of friendly pubs all serving great food and all Dog Friendly. We had a lovely short break and would certainly recommend."
"We have stayed at Dove cottage on many occasions, and each time, the cottage and its owners, Barry & Elaine, never cease to surprise us with their kindness & warmth. We always take one of our dogs with us, Charlie, who has taken to Northumbrian life with gusto - Barry can certainly recommend some stunning walks! Our last stay in February this year, coincided with the 'Beast from the East' snow storm, and sadly we were snowed in and had to stay for another week!! But again, Barry and Elaine looked after us as if we were members of their family, ensuring we had enough provisions and logs for the fire! Stunning cottage with spectacular views!"
"Stayed in dove cottage for a week with hubby and the dog. Barry and Elaine are most accommodating, scones and rock cakes on arrival. Lovely log burner, Great base for walking. Cottage is very well equipped with a want for nothing but if you do need anything I am sure Barry or Elaine would do all they could to help. Would definitely return."
