The small village of Oxenhope lies amid wonderful scenery, and offers the chance to take advantage of the multitude of walks in the area. The village, with its shops, churches and pubs, is home to the terminus for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, which runs on a regular basis to Haworth and on down to Keighley. The area was made famous by the Bronte sisters, and the outstanding countryside was famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren.

"This charming comfortable cottage is located in a quiet spot but it is not isolated. It is one and a quarter miles from Haworth, the home of the Bronte sisters so it is ideal for visiting places of interest connected with them. It is also a perfect spot for walkers. Many walks can be accessed from the cottage. The cottage is well equipped and the bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The views from the cottage are stunning. We had a lovely relaxing stay and plan to return."

"Lovely location , very clean and we equipped . Very large comfortable bed . For us the best feature was it's central location for walking . We covered about 70 miles in the South Pennines In 6 days at different places from Ponden to Hebden Bridge and Including a stroll into Haworth through the country park on our arrival day for lunch thanks to our hosts allowing us in early to store our perishable food . They also met us to show us how everything worked from wi-fi to recycling"

"What a wonderful cosy cottage with fantastic views! The cottage itself was charming and had everything we needed for our stay. The owner Tracey was lovely + the extra touch of trifle + wine was just what we needed after a 5 hour car journey! The cottage is the perfect base to visit the area, with the beautiful town of Haworth being only a 30minute walk away (5 mins in the car), the steam railway / museum is also worth a visit! We will definitely be staying there again and recommending the cottage to family / friends."

"The photos do not do this cottage justice: I was pleasantly suprised and my expectations were massively surpassed. I could not have asked for a better location. The cottage itself was charming and homely and a lot bigger than the pictures suggest. The views are what makes this cottage so special. Words could not do the views justice but if i were to descrive them in a few words id say you'd find it hard to look away. The bed itself is huge enough to fit 4 small people in so you have plentiful space to spread out. The bed does not compare to the luxurious and deep filled traditional bath and you find yourself ignoring the shower more and more. Tracy and Michael the hosts went above and beyond and are such lovely and friendly folk. It was coming up to Easter when I got a knock at my door only to be surprised with an Easter egg chocolate basket! This had to be my highlight of my stay because it was not expected but they did it anyway. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and would certainly come again. Many thanks for such a wonderful stay"

"What an absolute pleasure our stay at 17 Moorside turned out to be. The views are unbelievable.......(fellas, if your better half has ever told you that you're not as romantic as you used to be, surprise her by whisking her to this cottage pronto). It is very comfortable and well appointed. We were made to feel very welcome by Tracey the owner, who provided a fantastic welcome package. You really don't need to bring much at all. There are lots of lovely walks and better still some great local pubs. Book with confidence."
