Pateley Bridge is a Dales town nestled in the steep-sided valley of the River Nidd. Little alleys and yards off the steep main street house many interesting shops offering a wide range of gifts and mementos, plenty of places to eat and drink, two award-winning butchers, a fishmongers, a bakery and the oldest sweet shop in England. Up and downstream, the Nidd Valley offers excellent opportunities for walking, cycling and birdwatching.

"Located about 2 miles from Pateley Bridge, Owl Cottage is a newly refurbished cottage and its been done to a very high standard. Lots of modern touches such as sky+, Netflix, USB sockets and high speed wifi all set in a rural location with horses and chickens on site just outside the door. Perfectly located with wonderful scenery and walks nearby. Ideal for any keen cyclists the owners offer secure storage and the local roads feature in the Tour de Yorkshire although you need your climbing legs for these routes, the roads are so quiet its a joy to cycle them. Made to feel so welcome by the owners with a wonderful welcome basket on arrival. Definitely recommended"
