Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a mecca for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train via the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit.

"Me, my wife, my mum, dad, brother, sister-in-law and our 4 children all enjoyed a fantastic weekend here. There is plenty of space for a family of 10 and the location is stunning; ideal for exploring the local area and attempting Snowdon as we did. The accommodation is very high quality and the outside space with the stream running next to the garden is particularly impressive and makes for a peaceful stay. Donna was very accommodating but we were unfortunately let down by the booking agent Sykes cottages so perhaps booked through another agent. Thank you Donna."

"A fantastic well equipped spacious cottage with everything you need supplied, even some goodies for when we arrived. There were 10 of us plus a baby and there was plenty of room for all of us. It was very cold weather while we were there but the house is toasty warm lovely to come back to and great to have 3 car parking spaces, you are very close to all village amenities just a few minutes walk away, a must for food is a visit to the Padarn Hotel and Bistro the food was excellent. We would definitely recommend Ty Coch to anyone wishing to stay in this area."

"We've just spent a few days between Christmas and the New Year at this delightful house in Llanberis. There were ten of us plus a dog and the house offers ample accommodation over three floors. There are five bedrooms (3 double and 2 twin) so everybody gets a proper bed. No put-u-ups or futons. It's clear that the place has had a total makeover and the furnishings and equipment are very modern and new. When we arrived, the house was spotless. The ground floor has 3 bedrooms (1 en-suite), a bathroom. a small games room and a utility room with a washer dryer. There is also a door out to a lawned and decked area. The first floor has a very large kitchen dinner with room for ten dining. The kitchen equipment is very up-to-date. On this floor there is also a large lounge with a TV and DVD. It has a small balcony overlooking the garden The front door is on this floor and there is also a toilet. On the second floor are a further 2 bedrooms. Outside there is parking space for 3 cars. The house is about 100 yards from the main road through Llanberis. Overall, this house offers excellent accommodation and is in a very good location for exploring this part of North Wales. It's a shame that there are no shower facilities on the top floor as it means a trip to the ground floor for those people. To add this, or to make the first floor toilet into a small shower room would be the only improvement I would suggest. Overall, this is an excellent base to use for exploring the area and we are very likely to go there again."
