Yew Cottage is a stone cottage situated close to the village of Backbarrow just one mile from Newby Bridge in Cumbria. The cottage can sleep eight people in four double bedrooms all of which are en-suite. Also in the cottage is an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner. Outside is off road parking for four cars and a private patio with hot tub, furniture and BBQ. Yew Cottage is a lovely base from which to explore this fabulous part of the country. Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair on request. Off road parking for 4 cars. Private enclosed patio with hot tub, furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 2 miles, pub 1.6 miles. Note: Fishing available on the estate tarn/lake at certain times of the year by prior arrangement with owner. Environmental license required. Note: Due to tarn/take on-site and hot tub, children must be supervised at all times. Note: There are also stone steps from the front door down to garden. Note: WiFi suitable for browsing only. Note: Max 8 guests and 1 infant. Note: Check-in time 4pm.

The small village of Backbarrow sits by the banks of the River Leven and the southern tip of Lake Windermere. The famous Haverthwaite Steam Railway runs close by the village between Haverthwaite and Lakeside. Enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or visit the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life.
