"Nice property, and quiet country surrounds. For a 5-bedroom property you would expect a good kitchen facilities: Kitchen bin cover mechanism is opened by hand causing germs to spread & as a last resort removed the cover & kept the bin opened, suggest to replace with a pedal bin. Cups & bowls in kitchen are not well washed & needed to be washed before our use. Dishwasher falling out & needed fixing to the sides Fridge is too small and not fit for a 5-bedroom house, location of the microwave above the fridge is bad as the heat from it coming down on the fridge Kitchen is very dark in daylight. Hooks in bedrooms on the doors are broken Water pressure for taking a shower is not adequate, that means if one person is having a shower and another person open the shower, the water pressure drops to a trickle. Conservatory Wicker chairs pin nails pluck clothes - tired Broadband for uploading is very very poor, really poor. Hot tub is nice & maintained but the cover handle clips are broken and someone used cable ties, as a temporary solution. Road leading to property is bad for city cars, not asphalt or even."

"I was in the party that has recently visited this farmhouse. The owners said they needed to regularly check the hot tub which was fair enough but the owner entered the farmhouse at least three days of our week saying she needed to 'check the internet'. While we were there we unfortunately had a bereavement in the family and the family member came down to join us because all of the family were on this week away. The owner on entering the house YET AGAIN noticed we were over our number and we were all asked to vacate the house immediately. When we refused, as we had two days left, and explained why we were over the number, they threatened to call the police. There was no sympathy and understanding. They then demanded extra money from us so we could stay. This situation made the bereaved family member very uncomfortable and felt it was all their fault when all they wanted to do was be with us all. If you want privacy DONT book this place as the owner is very intrusive and ' popping ' in all the time. They have no sympathy and understanding just money grabbing people."

"Had this property booked with 9 others people and unfortunately the weekend we had booked we had horrendous snow fall which meant there was a red weather warning out and we were unable to leave our road to it being closed, to which we rang Sykes cottages to ask if we could change the date- to which we were told they would contact the owners to see if this was possible, half an hour later we received a phone call from Sykes to tell us they have spoken to the owners and they have refused to change the date even to an out of peek time !!!! I think this is absolutely appalling that they could not help us out in this situation and were happy to take our money knowing our circumstances, the people running this house are money oriented grabbers and hope karma come back to bite them!!! I feel they could of done more to help us knowing that it was out of our hands and there was no physical way of us getting down there safely!!! I feel we have been totally ripped off by this couple and hope no one else suffers the loss of money that we did!!! Think wisely before booking this property because they offer no help but happy to take your money !!!"

"This is a lovely house that has a modern yet cosy feel. It has everything you need for your holiday (a well stocked kitchen, brownies and wine on arrival, logs and firefighters for log burner etc). The beds are comfortable but I have only given 4 stars due to the sofa. It is a wooden base with cushions on top. As we spent a lot of evenings in the cosy lounge, a comfortable sofa really would have made a big difference. Hot tub, pool table and board games were lovely additions to the house (even if the pool table is slightly uneven!). We've had a lovely stay and would recommend to others. "

"Amazing house, beautiful setting, well connected to rest of Cornwall. Friendly, helpful and accommodating owners. House very well equipped. Garden and hot tub well maintained. Spent most of my time there in the hot tub or in my pjs next to the fire - exactly what I wanted. Perfect place to celebrate birthday with friends and family."
