The pretty village of Coniston is situated at the head of Coniston Water, surrounded by beautiful scenery in the Lake District National Park. The village offers shops, pubs and cafes, as well as a brewery, and there's superb walking, mountain biking and climbing locally.

"Lovely well equipped one bedroom apartment. Between Coniston and Torver overlooking the lake. Very nice to have sheep grazing in adjoining field and an abundance of lovely garden birds feeding on bird feeder and occasional rabbit visitor. Well provided for cottage with washing machine and dishwasher, plus TV with freeview and DVD player. Nice selection of DVD's, plus various guides and maps for locality. Bed very comfortable. Will definitely book again."
"We had a lovely stay last week in this cottage. It was very clean with all the necessities you needed. comfy bed although a little squeaky , warm as toast. The view across the valley was good but the best view were the little blue tits and the resident woodpecker just out side the patio doors. So many of then flying around all day. The only crit was that we could only stay 5 night and even though we are not in high season we had to pay for the full week which would stop us using it again next year . Sykes gave a quote for a shorter period but when we came to book they said it was a booking error and we had to pay the full price. After looking at so many properties we couldn't be bothered to start looking again. But as far as the accommodation, garden and cleanliness it couldn't be faulted."
