Electric central heating with gas fire. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing/dryer, TV with Freeview, WiFi. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 1 car. Raised patio leading to mature garden area with furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 1 min walk. Note: Stone steps lead down from the patio to the rear entrance door and to the mature garden.

The historic town of Appleby-in-Westmorland is situated on a loop of the River Eden and is overlooked by the Pennine range. The town offers shops and pubs, along with a Norman Castle, a medieval Church and a horse fair in June. Appleby is a major stop on the Settle-Carlisle Railway, and within reach are both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.

"We stayed for a week to do some walking in the area. The weather was pretty poor but the house was well equipped and comfortable. It was great to have such a cosy place to warm up and dry out! The covered area to the rear was especially useful for cleaning our boots and the owner helpfully supplied a bucket. We ate out in the evenings (after all it is a holiday) but there are few places to do so on foot. The Turton Arms and the Ashiana are in the village centre and both are good, the other pubs don't do food. The Royal Oak is good but it's a ten minute walk uphill."
