Gatehouse is a detached cottage in the village of Painscastle just four miles from Hay-on-Wye. The cottage sleeps six people and has one king-size double bedroom, one double and two single together with family bathroom and ground floor shower room. Also in the cottage are a kitchen with breakfast area, dining area with seating and snug area with woodburner. There is also a second sitting room with woodburner. Outside is off road parking for four cars and an enclosed garden with patio, hot tub, furniture and BBQ. Situated only three miles from the England/Wales border, Gatehouse is a lovely family cottage and ideal to explore this lovely part of the country. Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

The pretty village of Painscastle lies just five and a half miles from the famous town of Hay-on-Wye, and takes its name from its ancient fortress, where today only large earthworks remain. Standing only three miles from the England/Wales border, the village boasts a charming real ale inn serving good food, and is surrounded by scenic countryside.

"Firstly, the owner is a very caring lady, who made our stay just perfect! Gatehouse is spotlessly clean with fresh flowers and Welsh cakes on the table. It's a large house . The pictures don't do it justice. Crisp white bedding and extremely comfy beds! As for the hot tub, that was a bonus!. Also a very friendly pub over the road with excellent grub. Only four miles to Hay on Wye. Horse riding and canoeing locally too. Lovely Welsh countryside and mountains. Perfect."
