Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair. Parking permit for one car in a nearby car park or roadside parking on a first come first serve basis using scratch cards provided. Enclosed terrace with furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk. Beach 10 mins walk.

Situated at the mouth of the River Esk, Whitby is an ancient fishing port steeped in history. The ruin of St Hilda's Abbey is high on Whitby's East Cliff and looks down on narrow streets and alleyways. From the old town, the parish church of St Mary, also on East Cliff, has 199 steps leading to it and the churchyard was one of the inspirations for Bram Stoker's Dracula.

"We have previously stayed at the neighbouring cottage, Oystercatcher Cottage. This cottage is tucked away nicely from the hustle and bustle of Whitby, but not too far away from all the amenities. The cottage is furnished to a high standard. The upstairs mirrors the other cottage, but the ground floor is a different set up. Once again we received a lovely little welcome pack with tea, coffee and biscuits included. The cottage has everything you need for a week or short break. It is a stone throw away from shops, bars and restaurants. Parking in Whitby is always a nightmare, but you get a permit for West Cliff car park which is just up the road and also scratch cards which can be used for permit holder parking which is a big bonus. We got parked less than 30 seconds from the cottage. This place is also dog friendly."
