Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels NOT inc. in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Ample off road parking. Lockable bike storage. Enclosed lawned garden with furniture, BBQ and summerhouse. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 6 miles. Note: Mobile coverage is variable. Note: The rear garden beyond the lawned area is uneven where trees have been felled. Note: The summerhouse contains a hot tub, which is unusable. Note: One step up into property and one internal step. Two steps into summerhouse. Due to Covid-19 you are required to bring your own bed linen and towels

The attractive country town of Castle Douglas is nestled in the south west of Scotland. Castle Douglas is known locally as the 'Food Town', playing host to a large selection of independent food shops, as well as a range of pubs and restaurants. There's access to the picturesque Solway Coast, with its miles of beautiful beaches and scattering of pretty fishing villages. Whatever you fancy, Castle Douglas is the perfect base for experiencing it all!

"This cottage is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and in such a wonderful location. We watched the numerous spectacular Red Kite flying overhead every day and your standard garden/woodland birds like a friendly robin and chaffinches were also regular visitors. The cottage itself is very well equipped and deceptively spacious with the twin room having amazing views out over the garden and to the woods. There were a couple of issues during our stay (e.g. previous visitors reported broken washing machine on leaving) but the owners were so quick to fix any issues that the washing machine was replaced within an hour and a half of our arrival. The owners could not have been more helpful and friendly, even down to the little box of chocolates, tea, coffee and jug of milk we found when we arrived. We were so impressed and happy with our stay that we will be looking at whether we can book again next year and will be recommending this place to anyone who will listen!"
"The bungalow is great -spotlessly clean well decorated & maintained, with all equipment you could need.The large, private outdoor space is good for seeing wildlife including deer, red kites & bats.The summerhouse is a bonus.Wonderful night skies here (weather permitting!) Lots to do in the area, Galloway forest park, lots of castles & ruins,pretty small towns & the solway firth coast. A car is a must, & there was no mobile reception ( a plus in my view !) Recommended."
