The charming old village of Tebay sits near the eastern fringe of the Lake District National Park. The village itself winds its way along the edge of the main thoroughfare and the traditionally whitewashed Cross Keys Inn has been there for 500 years or more. Along with its better-known neighbours of Kendal, Sedbergh and Appleby-in-Westmorland, the area is surrounded by lovely rolling countryside and beautiful scenery.

Mount Cottage

Rated 5/50 by on 28th June 2015

"We stayed there with relatives for a few days. There is a rambling track down to the cottages - don't look down! The satnav takes you to the door, so is easy to find. It is very well equipped; recommend you take some extra loo roll and dishwasher tabs. Two of the rooms have on suite and the shower was lovely. Beds are comfy, could have done with a summer weight quilt as we were hot. The cottage was spotless and done to a high spec. There is WiFi and the connection was good. We liked the enclosed garden at the back as we took the dog so they could be let out without much worry. We did have the heating on on one cold day and it got nice and cosy. The M6 does run at the back but I didn't hear the road noise in the bedroom. The cottage was used as a base so it was wasn't a major problem. Beautiful scenery. Would go back there again!"
