Oil central heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven and 5-ring gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer in external utility, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, CD/radio, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel and power inc. in rent, fuel for stove on honesty box basis. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Highchair on request. Off road parking for 3 cars. Mature gardens to front and back (enclosed at front) with furniture. Bike storage. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops 2 miles, pub 10 mins walk. Note: Road 20 yards from front of the property, children to be supervised and some associated noise may be heard. Note: The woodburning stove has vented heating to serve the dining and sitting room. Note: Due to the circular staircase, children to be supervised and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

Situated in the heart of beautiful Teesdale close to the villages of Romaldkirk and Middleton is the small hamlet of Mickleton. Within Teesdale and just a few miles from the market town of Barnard Castle, this pretty village consists primarily of a cluster of stone houses set along a single street. With a post office, village shop and two pubs, Mickleton has everything a visitor could need. However for more specific amenities, Barnard Castle provides a huge range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Just on the doorstep are The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, providing beautiful walking routes through the local countryside. The River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force are also close by.

"We stayed at this cottage with our 2 retired greyhounds. Unfortunately one of our dogs sustained a horrific injury whilst in this holiday accommodation. He sliced his back open on the stair handrail which was cut at an acute angle instead of being rounded or squared off as it should have been. His injury required several stitches, is still healing now and will leave a permanent scar on his back. We have sought to recover the cost of our dog's treatment from both the owners of the cottage and Sykes letting agents without success. We have been told that the cottage owners do not have appropriate insurance for animals on their property even though the cottage is advertised as dog friendly. Sykes letting agents despite having public liability insurance have stated that the booking contract is between ourselves and the cottage owners and are not prepared to compensate us for the vets' fees. Based on our experience our advice to anyone with either dogs or young children would be not to book this cottage as this could so easily have been a child's face."
"Lovely barn conversion adjoined to owners house. Well decorated, clean with everything needed to have a home from home feel. Once inside you could forget about the outside world as walls so thick and windows well glazed. Cottage situated on edge of village with great views and walks with the addition of a great local pub with excellent food and drink. Can honestly say that next time would love to stay for more than one week. Owners very friendly with lovely dog and made us feel very welcome but we're not intrusive during our stay."
"Whit bridge cottage is beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The lounge is very cosy and a great place to relax at the end of day out. The dining room has beautiful views across the open countryside and the beautiful Teesdale valley. It sleeps six very comfortably over three rooms, plenty of wash facilities. This is one of best cottages we have stayed in, so highly recommend. The area around has plenty to offer too."
