"Booked this for a relaxing week away to an area we've not been to before and what a surprise. The Barn is top drawer, spacious and has everything you need, set in the owners beautiful gardens. The location is in the middle of the Wye valley close to places to see or good walks (we did a few), Graham, the owner, is a font of knowledge of where to go, what to see, etc. The accommodation is well set out and a credit to the owner and the 2 years he spent on renovations, add to this the nearest pub is only 165 steps away (yes, like saddo's we counted), there are 2 other eateries within walking distance and the Dog and Muffler served me the best steak I've had in ages, and I can be picky with steak.Whatever you're looking for, you'll find it here, one of the best cottages we've stayed at, ever !"

"I spent the week here in June and had a brilliant time exploring the nearby countryside. We couldn't believe just how many walks there were on our doorstep. Symond's Yat Rock was little over 30 minutes walk away, through a scenic forest walk. There were also more national trust gardens and castles within a 40 minute drive than we could even visit. Tintern Abbey was also a highlight, with a good afternoon's walk around the surrounding hills to the Devil's pulpit. We dropped into the Brockweir and Hewelsfield ViIlage Shop on the way back to Tintern and bought the best holiday breakfast ever. The house itself is well presented, very clean and had recently been decorated inside. The internet was fast, which was helpful in planning our trips out. The kitchen was well enough equipped to cook just about anything you could want to make. Also, there were two excellent pubs within walking distance. Our favourite was the dog and muffler but The New Inn was just 100 m down the road and served very good home cooked food too. We look forward to visiting again!"

"This is a beautiful barn conversion, finished to a high standard. With great views from the lounge and patio, it is ideally situated to explore the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean on foot from the barn, or by car. Graham, the owner, was really friendly, and couldn't be more helpful, with useful idea's about things to do and places to see, as well as tips about the local restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay, and thoroughly recommend Arles Barn. Graham and Catriona"

"This superb and sympathetic barn conversion is everything you would hope for from the description. In excellent condition and wonderfully cosy on a bleak November weekend ! We rented the barn as a birthday treat for our daughter so that she could get away and relax with her dog. She was over the moon with the barn , the location and all the helpful advice she received from Graham about places to walk etc. The only downside to the place is that my daughter loved the underfloor heating and is now demanding we install it !!! She had a brilliant weekend and wants to go back to do some more exploring."

"I was lucky enough to stay at this cottage for a weekend, it was a lovely stay and the owner was very welcoming, sharing local information and telling me about walks nearby. The cottage was warm and cosy just the right size for a couple, the kitchen and bathroom are both modern and well looked after, the bedroom had beautiful views and a comfortable bed. The lounge was purfect for curling up with a book also looking out across the valley. I had a truly lovely stay and would definitely recommend Arles Barn."

"'It does exactly what it say's on the tin'....There is no more that I can say about the property that is'nt truthfully portrayed in the owners explanation of this accommodation (except, maybe, the minor inconvenience that the patio lights switch seemed to be operated by a switch in the boiler cupboard instead of by the door or on a PIR) Pat and I spent a wonderful week there with Abbie the Ancient Yellow Labbie. On arrival we were welcomed by the very attentive and friendly Graham who is justifiably very proud of his achievement in converting the barn to this high very standard. His knowledge of the surrounding area and features ought to qualify him for an award with The English Tourist Board!! and he was always readily available for anything such as the loan of local maps etc.. But at the same time he was never 'in your face' (a pretty rare and very welcome quality).Thank you Graham, We must return. Roy."

"We chose this lovely cottage because it looked lovely. The pictures do not do it justice, it's far better in the flesh. Wonderfully cosy and comfortable. Well set out kitchen with everything you need. Beauiful shower room with a very roomy shower. The bed is comfortable Very useful to have free Wi Fi ! The area is stunning and within easy reach of the Forest, just a five minute walk takes you straight to it. A walk through the forest of about 2 miles takes you to "The rock". Symonds Yat, amazing view. The New Inn five minutes walk away do lovely food. Other pubs nearby as well. The shop is 10 minutes walk away, very good for basics. The owners are very helpful and welcoming! We will definitely go back!"
