Overview
This detached barn conversion set on a working farm, two miles from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant sleeps 24 people in 11 bedrooms. Eleven bedrooms: North Wing: 1 x king-size double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x ground floor king-size double with en-suite wet room with shower, basin and WC, 1 x double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin, 1 x twin (zip/link, can be super king-size double on request). Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. Centre Wing: 2 x king-size double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x family room with 1 king-size double and 1 single with en-suite bath, shower over, basin and WC. South Wing: 1 x ground floor king-size double, 1 x twin (zip/link, can be super king-size double on request), 1 x family room with 1 king-size double and 1 single. Bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, basin and WC. Ground floor shower room with shower, basin and WC. Kitchen with breakfast bar leading to dining area with mezzanine balcony overlooking hall. Utility. Sitting room (seats 20). Second sitting room (seats 12) with woodburning stove.
Castell Courtyard is a wonderful detached barn conversion on a working sheep farm, two miles from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, close to Lake Vyrnwy. This barn conversion sleeps 24 people in 11 bedrooms, including four with en-suite facilities and there's also four separate bathroom/shower rooms. The cottage also has a kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area, a sitting room with woodburning stove, a second sitting room, a hall with dining area and a mezzanine balcony. Outside there's off road parking for 11 cars, an enclosed front lawned garden and a rear patio with hot tub. Castell Courtyard provides a luxury base for families and friends. Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Rangemaster Nexus cooker with electric ovens and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer with ice dispenser, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwashers, 3 x TVs (1 with basic Sky, 1 with Freeview and 1 for games console only), DVD, PlayStation 3 with small selection of games, WiFi, selection of books, games, toys and DVDs. Fuel, power and fuel for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Two travel cots, highchairs and stairgate on request. Off road parking for 11 cars. Bike cleaning and lockable storage shed. Enclosed front lawned garden with patio and furniture, plus rear patio with hot tub and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 1.5 miles. Note: The owners are happy to receive a Tesco/Asda delivery prior to arrival, please contact owners to arrange. Note: Next to a working sheep farm with outbuildings in view. Note: Two internal steps into sitting room and three steps into south wing bedroom and bathroom, and there's a slope down from the car park (limited alternative parking available for guests with limited mobility, by prior arrangement with owners). The village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant is situated in the beautiful Tanat Valley at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, only four miles from the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall. The village offers two general stores, a newsagents, a Post Office, a butchers, two pubs and two cafes. In the area there's Lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, Powys Castle and Gardens, Shrewsbury, Chester and the Snowdonia National Park.

"Just returned from an amazing weekend here with 20 other people! The house is simply stunning. All the bedrooms are gorgeous! We had loads of fun in the hot tub! We also had suzanne cook for us which was amazing! A beautiful meal cooked for us all. The owners of the house past her details to me. I would highly recommend it. Cant wait to return and would definitely be giving suzanne a ring to cook for us again!!"
"This was booked for a hen weekend for 20 and whilst the photos looked amazing on arrival I realised they did not do the cottage justice. It is in an ideal peaceful location, the property is of an exceptional high standard for every aspect from size, decoration and furnishings. Everything is catered for, BEAUTIFUL"
"well... what can i say.. this has definitely been a week to remember and it was at the perfect idyllic setting..CASTELL COURTYARD.. The owners have thought of everything, it was so clean and very very comfortable, my husband and i slept really well and we even ventured into the hot tub. Ordered shopping online and was delivered with no problem. ventured out on a country walk which was right at the top of the drive way and walked down to the nearest village, not so bad walking down but you definitely need energy to walk back up, drove into Oswestry which was also lovely, it waa such a special occasion but the beutiful accommodation made it. The owners were so friendly and even invited the children to feed the new lambs,(think this is only because of the time of year so please dont be disappointed if not available when you visit). I would give this place 6 stars if i could.."
"24 Ladies had a fabulous weekend here for a hen party. Such a beautiful house with plenty of space for all of us. Nearly every room has an ensuite or two rooms sharing a bathroom at the most which was brilliant for us. So tastefully decorated it really felt luxurious with all the kitchen facilities as well. We partied all weekend and enjoyed time in the hotub which was fab. We ventured out to Ffestiniog and did the Titan Zipwire which was brilliant. We used the recommended caterers for Saturday evening which was a brilliant idea- great food and great service. Everyone loved it especially the bride to be."
"This place definitely lives up to the photos. A superb barn refurbishment giving luxurious, spacious accommodation for a family get together, ranging from aged 3 to mid 60's. The large hot tub was an added bonus."
"13 of us (9 adults 4 children) stayed at this cottage for 4 days over New Year and had an amazing time. The owners who live in the farm house across the way were so helpful and the cottage itself was out of this world. The whole place was faultless and immaculately clean. The lovely hot tub was a great little extra to sit and relax in on the cold evenings. We would highly recommend."
"The location was beautiful. This barn conversion was very roomy and exceptionally clean with everything you needed and a hot tub too. On arrival two bottles of Prosecco were left in the kitchen. 20 family and friends stayed for a 50th birthday bash from Friday to Monday. If anyone want to celebrate away from home with family and friend then this is the place to be. One guest left an IPad which was sent back by the owner the same day. We all had a great stay and are hoping to go again for the next big family party. Perfect place,"
"We visited Castell Courtyard for 3 birthday celebrations. It is set in beautiful surroundings. The cottage has lots of space and is really clean and well maintained. The hot tub is large and the seating area under cover near the hot tub is great for anyone not wanting to use the hot tub but still socialise. I would definitely recommend Castell Courtyard."
"Stayed as part of a large group (ladies), lovely facilities, fizz on arrival - whole house spotlessly clean. The location was peaceful & only a short drive or walk to local, amenities in the beautiful village of Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant, some of our more energetic members walked to the top of the waterfall! Enjoyed a really wonderful meal at the local pub (The Plough) with lots of singing and dancing afterwards. Helpful local taxi driver (Dennis) got us all safely back up the hill!"
"Just returned from weekend away with friends Fantastic property to holiday.in House is beautiful inside and out made good use of hot tub , beds really comfortable just a small thought hairdryers in rooms would be a handy extra , would recommend this property for a large group spacious amd really good layout."
"There was 20 women in this house on a hen party. It never felt crowded, every room was decorated and furnished to the highest standard. The kitchen was huge in the centre of the house. With sitting rooms at either end of it. Theres a laundry room, with shoes to wear when going in the jaccuzzi, which was fab. There are 3 stair cases leading to the bedrooms. Beds are comfortable. Some rooms have ensuite It was about 3 miles to the town. Great for parties or family get togethers. I would recommend this house"
"Just back from a family get together 22-29 SEP 2017 with 17 of us spanning 4 generations meeting up. The place is absolutely stunning being very modern while retaining many original features. The owners, Helen and Aled, have thought of absolutely everything with some lovely touches including a couple of bottles of fizz to toast our arrival. The bedrooms are fantastic with luxurious bedding and feather duvets to ensure a great night's sleep. Spent a lot of time in the hot tub which was a fantastic bonus. Plenty to see and do nearby most within a 45 minutes drive. We've had several family get-togethers over the years and have always tried different places but Castell Courtyard probably tops the lot and will be extremely hard to better. Thanks again Helen and Aled, I somehow think we will be seeing you again sometime."

"Went from 10th -13th March for my daughters hen party.From the moment we arrived we got the wow factor. The facilities were amazing and the furnishings. The owners were very helpful and non intrusive. We had caterers in during the stay Called I Can Cook they were excellent very reasonably priced we had a 3 course meal on the Saturday night and afternoon tea on the Sunday excellent service would highly recommend them Jo Petford is the contact name. Some of the party went out walking and said how beautiful it was very. There is local shops and pubs nearby. The Hot Tub was excellent and cleaned and checked every morning. The owners are next door which was good will go again."
"We went for my cousins hen party with our family. The place is just amazing, they cater for everything you could ever need. We had a caterer (I cook for you) in for the Saturday night and on the Sunday for afternoon tea. The food on both occasions was so delicious. We were luckily enough to get snow on the Sunday so being in the hot tub during the snow flurry was lovely. The kitchen area was gorgeous, perfect for dancing around the island. The owners were extremely helpful! We never wanted to leave, we would all love to return."
"I have just got back from my 50th birthday weekend at this magnificent property. 18 adults stayed the weekend in total luxury in this very high spec accommodation. If you are looking for a property that has the wow factor look no further. The owners are lovely, the renovation of this property is a credit to the owners. From the handmade kitchen to the high spec bathrooms if you think this property looks good in the photo's wait until you get in it."
"What a fabulous place. We have just returned from a stay at Castell Courtyard, for half term week, a group of 10 adults and 8 children (teenagers). The place is huge, plenty of space so you never feel on top of one another, bedrooms are in three separate wings plus two lounges with log burning stoves ; the children took over the smaller lounge which has smart TV. Everything is really good quality (Even Jo Malone diffuser) they have thought of everything that you could possibly need. The pictures on the website really don't do it justice, it is large enough to lose yourself. Only comments would be that a games room (snooker/air hockey etc) would have been could to keep kids entertained as there isn't anywhere outside to play football/cricket etc (I would probably change downstairs bedroom near door) however having said this they really did entertain themselves with hide and seek etc. Thanks for fab time. "Went in january for a friends hen party and i didnt want to leave would have happily stayed here and moved in what a place. They have every base covered for anyone to stay here with the distance in rooms you could easily visit with young children and not disturb guests who dont have little ones. There are games provided dvd's a playstation you really will find everything. The kitchen i especially loved they literally have anything you could need want and more and all being in perfect condition everything was spotless on arrival and just so well thought out. Extremely comfortable beds and bed linen is all in perfect condition the decor of the whole place was impeccable. I would recommend this place to everyone if you want true luxury at a brilliant price then you must book. We had caterers in on the saturday who were also fantastic. i would love to go back here. Thank you for a truly wonderful stay."

The kids loved seeing and feeding the animals and it was nice to find out a bit about life on a working farm. Perfect location for a family holiday and looking forward to next year. "
"Just returned from a fabulous weekend break at Castell Coyrtyard with friends. What a fantastic place to stay. Top end luxury in a beautifully renovated barn with more than you could ever expect in a holiday let with beautiful character and wood burning stoves. Lovely outside space too with the added advantage of a hot tub."
"I have just returned from the most amazing weekend staying at Castell Courtyard. There were 15 of us altogether and it was for my hen/birthday weekend. The place just blew us all away, I saw the photos before we went and thought it looked gorgeous but its fantastic! Very recently converted into a stunning property that wants for nothing. The owners have been very helpful throughout, advising us on eating places and local attractions. We ordered an Asda delivery shop which turned up before we arrived, the owners had taken it in for us and even put the food in the fridge and freezer. A lovely touch was the vase of fresh roses and 2 bottles of Prosecco left for us on the counter! The property is extremely well equipped, kitchen wise, they have everything and enough of everything to accommodate large groups. All the appliances seemed to be top of the range. The place in general was very clean, very comfortable and very well decorated with lots of finishing touches. We didnt even need to use the wood burning stoves as it was nice and warm anyway. The bedrooms are fab, some had ensuites and some didnt, the ones that didn't however, only shared a bathroom between 2 rooms anyway, so it was never an issue. Plenty of comfortable seating lounge areas, big widescreen tvs, playstation etc etc! The hot tub is out of this world, can comfortably fit 9/10 in at one time and was all ready and up to temperature for when we arrived, we definitley got our use out of it! I did a bit of research before we went and managed to find a Caterer from nearby Oswestry, who I can highly recommend, she came on the Saturday night and cooked us a 3 course meal which was superb, there were 4 of them in total, so it was full waitressing service and they fully cleared up after too. All pots washed and put away. Another recommendation would be a pub which was 8 miles away, The Green Inn at LLangedwyn (also recommended by the owners) we went on Sunday afternoon and it was really good food and fab service. I have already been looking at availability for Castell Courtyard for going again, but its pretty booked up for the rest of the year! I think I can speak for all 15 of us when we say we would definitley return!"
"The couple who own Castell courtyard have thought of absolutely everything to make it an amazing stay; there wasn't one thing we needed / wanted that wasn't there or thought of. We went for my husbands 30th and NYE - there was only 16 of us so it felt even more so like a mansion! The house is actually bigger then it looks in the photographs and has been designed / decorated beautifully. Super clean, super comfortable, luxurious, light, airy, super warm and cosy - just perfect for our winter break with our friends. We have stayed in a lot of houses / cottages as groups before and this is by far the best!! I could list everything that was amazing but I would be here all day. Thank you so much for a wonderful time away and we certainly be back in the future."
