"This a lovely, well located, well equipped and spacious holiday home. It is a short walk to Robin Hood's Bay and Boggle Hole. It is also convenient for footpaths and cycle ways (i.e. Cinder Track, part of the No 1 cycle route). The X93 bus service between Scarborough and Whitby is a regular service that passes the door. A butcher/baker and pizza maker is just down the hill and a few metres further on ia a corner shop for basic groceries and newspapers. The accommodation is on three floors with a modern extension making 3 double bedrooms and three distinct sitting rooms (4 if you count the spacious kitchen). There is one good size bathroom with free standing bath and shower cubicle. There is also a coakroom. It easily accommodates 6 adults and is also very suitable for children of all ages (although there are lots of stairs). There were 4 of us and we found it easy to go off and read, or have a nap, or watch TV without getting in the way of anybody else. From the rear parlour we saw lots of bird life and the back garden is usuable and secure facing onto fields. The only slight drawback is the off road parking. This house accommodates 6 people and it is possible there would be two cars. We found it was too much of a squeeze for two cars (a VW Golf and Vauxhall Corsa). The second car was parked on the road. There was always space and it wasn't an issue but the agent we booked through stated there was off road parking for 2 vehicles. Overall, we cannot recommend this place highly enough."

"Had a great stay at Burnside. Spacious kitchen with long dining table - perfect for evening meal for us 4 adults. Plenty of utensils / pans etc so cooking eve meals was hassle free. We also had a 3 year old who enjoyed having a 'play room' next to dining room complete with a box of toys, which was a thoughtful touch. The house is on 3 levels and there are steep stairs, steps down to the front door plus a wooden staircase from first floor entrance /TV area down to the kitchen, so be aware if you are bringing young children. Gorgeous bathroom with a fantastic deep bath - perfect for soaking away the aches and pains after a clifftop run. Original features give this place bags of character alongside a modern kitchen / bathroom. Good heating system meant the place stayed warm and cosy against the north east coast chilly coastal fog. One rather tight parking space outside but there was parking on the road further up the road. Highly recommend."

"House was very clean and lovely. We particularly liked having 2 sitting rooms so the children could spread out. Also the patio was perfect and we often ate outside watching the sheep on the hill opposite. It was great to arrive somewhere new after a drive and be welcomed by milk and biscuits for a much needed cup of tea. House is perfectly located between Whitby and Scarborough for exploring but it's also a lovely child friendly walk into Robin Hood's bay for looking for fossils. My children particularly loved the massive bath. House owners were extremely helpful. Would recommend."

"We spent a week at Burnside and we loved every minute of it. The house has three levels with 3 lounge areas and a spacious kitchen. There are little personal touches like the small fossils found in the local beach which we found endearing. The facilities are good and the location is perfect: half way between Whitby and Scarborough. Highly recommended."

"The house is a bit odd in that you approach it from the back - however - it is a lovely place once you are in it. Plenty of space and things for children too. 15 mins to Whitby, 5 mins down to the sea, 20 mins onto the moors. A great place and really lovely owners; a pleasure to deal with. The only issue is the door is a bit hard the first time you use it - but its okay once you get used to it. (Not good if you have a disability as there are lots of stairs and are a little steep.)"

"We enjoyed our stay and the location coupled with the rental price was very good.It was clean and well appointed and very comfortable.the only problem we could find was this is still a work in progress home.Tiles in the kitchen needed to be fixed the small room to the rear had a damp smell as did the toilet off the kitchen which if the door was left shut overnight was quite strong. But apart from that no problem.i would like to stay there again next year and will book if available."

"Excellent base for our holiday, Perhaps a little too big as there was only the two of us,very suitable for families. Easy access to the coast, good bus service to the bay, whitby or scarborough if you don't want to drive. Very nice local pub."
