This single storey, end terraced former country estate workers' cottage is situated in the village square in Powburn, near to the town of Alnwick in Northumberland. Offering accommodation all over the ground floor, the cottage sleeps two people in one double bedroom and has a bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. The rest of the cottage comprises a modern kitchen and a sitting room with dining area and an Inglenook fireplace with woodburner. Outside the cottage there is off road parking for two cars, and a children's play park is available approximately 50 metres away.With the National Park a 5 minute drive away and the Heritage Coast within travelling distance, this is a great cottage base from which to explore Northumberland. Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Shop 4 mins walk, pub 3 miles, children's park available 50 yards from property.

Powburn is a small, pretty village in Northumberland, offering a local shop and surrounded by glorious countryside. Located at the foothills of the Cheviots, Powburn is within easy reach of the town of Alnwick, which offers a host of amenities and an impressive castle and gardens. The village makes an ideal base for exploring the Northumberland National Park, the Heritage Coastline and National Trust's Cragside country house and gardens.

"Fantastic cottage in a wonderful location whether you just want to relax, see the sights of Northumberland or on a walking holiday. Beware of the Plough just 30 yards away, the welcome makes you feel like you are a regular, the food is beautifully cooked and portions are spectacular. "Bloomfield Cottage at Powburn provides delightful, homely accommodation. In a quiet location (our concerns about the nearby pub were totally unfounded)in a small village. As it is close to the Coast and Cheviots, it is ideal for walkers and cyclists. Our only (minor) criticism was lack of coat stand or coat hooks - fortunately, we had beautiful weather all week, but anybody needing to hang up their waterproofs would struggle ! Also, a washing machine would be of far more use than the dishwasher. Otherwise, it is very well furnished and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We would highly recommend Bloomfield Cottage to anybody wanting a pleasant and charming base from which to explore the area."
