"I booked the house with my partner and 10 friends to celebrate my 50th birthday and had a wonderful time in this beautiful house and grounds making happy memories. The house is close to the lovely village and beach and a short walk from 3 pubs. The house is full of character, tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean rooms. Kitchen fully equipped and spacious pantry. Bedrooms spacious, bathrooms lovely with plenty of room to find your own space. The extensive private gardens and grounds are beautifully kept. The house is well maintained and well equipped. We were very well looked after by Chris and Paddy, who with their team prepared, cooked and served a superbly delicious home cooked meal to top restaraunt standard. They dressed the table with flowers and herbs and it could not have been a more perfect setting for the unexpected added surprise of a marriage proposal. This was kindly followed the next morning, with a bottle of fizz and card from Caroline the owner. We laughed, we cried and had so much fun at Plas Gwynfryn. It is a special week I will never forget, in a beautiful setting with loved ones. We all looked forward to the week and it certainly exceeded our expectations. We will return. x"

"We stayed as a group of friends including 10 adults and 8 children. The house is fantastic and it was a real pleasure to stay in such an impressive home. The house and gardens are huge and very well kept; despite there being 18 of us we never felt on top of one another. The children had a fantastic time exploring the gardens and made the lounge their own den! We also travelled with two dogs who loved the courtyard and gardens. All in all a great house in a fantastic location - less than 5 minutes walk from local pubs, restaurants and shops. "

"This is a fantastic place as a base to explore this great corner of Wales. Locally there are a couple of pubs, about five minute walk away and a little supermarket in the village, take a torch though as when it's dark here it is dark! It is a great setting for a house. The grounds are lovely, huge lawns and some great rock garden areas to explore, the dogs we had with us were in heaven. The house looks amazing from the outside. It's hard to be too critical of such a grand house but it could be taken to another level, inside it just wasn't as grand as the outside! It was a little tired and would need some money spending on it, soft furnishings, sofas, new carpets, which were getting thread bare on stares. A jacuzzi and a good sound system would be great additions. The dining area also smelt of cigarette smoke but it was certainly large enough for us all. The Wifi never worked for anyone, good in some ways I suppose, all of us love a bit of surfing, it did of course make us more sociable though! In a rental like this all of the rooms really should have ensuites and downstairs another bathroom would be a good idea. The kitchen also needs a bit of attention, it wasn't the sexy new kitchen most of us love. It has two ovens, which were fine but the fridge was poor as was the sink, they don't belong in such a great building. That said it was full of character and charm, we had a superb time and don't let my comments put you off staying here or having your wedding, it was great."

"We booked the property for an extended family get together for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The kitchen was really well stocked making it easy to cater for large family meals, the bedrooms all beautifully decorated and comfortable and the gardens were just amazing for games and wandering around. It did get a little cool in the evenings so we made good use of the wood burning stoves in the main entrance hall and lounge. A lovely place to spend time"

"We enjoyed our stay at Plas Gwynfryn this is a truly fabulous house set in stunning gardens with amazing views. Very high standard of accommodation with lots of space for our extended family to stay without being on top of each other. The dogs had plenty of room for there beds in the kitchen area without being in the way. Lovely walks close by and Harlech beach which is dog friendly and stretches for miles. Would recommend."

"This place was an amazing find for a family celebration. The house is so well equipped and pretty much everything you could need to cater for 10 in the kitchen. The gardens were absolutely spectacular - and we all enjoyed exploring them (there are steep areas that would not be good for anyone wobbly on their feet). However there are also great expanses of beautiful, lawned areas. Minutes to the beautiful beaches. We had an absolutely amazing week and I have no doubt we will be back again very soon. Was such a breath taking property and even better because we could take our dogs too."

"14-17 family members including an infant and a few stayed only an evening stayed at this beautiful well kept manor. We stayed over the Easter holiday and had a truly wonderful time. The kitchen was well equipped to handle large meals for everyone as well as the large dining room table where everyone could eat together. The gardens are beautiful and we spend many sunny days (yes sun!) outside playing cricket and giranemo (giant jenga). In the evenings we would play games in the large family room. Everyone had plenty of space and they were so accommodating to my infant supplying us with highchair and pack and play. The bathrooms are lovely and you are within walking distance to town. This manor and the keeper, Caroline was absolutely amazing. Being able to stay in such a beautiful, loved home with such a large group was wonderful. There are several trails and hikes right off the property and space everywhere. I would absolutely recommend Plas Gwynfryn to anyone looking to have a comfortable, top notch stay in Wales/Gwynedd. And a bonus, Castle Harlech is very close and so worth the trip!!"

"A group of friends who met as students in 1969 - five boys and one girl - plus three wives who've come long since all get together once a year, and this year I found Plas Gwynfryn which looked like a great place for us. And that's exactly how it turned out. Excellent accommodation in an excellent location with access to such a great variety of holiday activities, from castles to countryside, from great little railways to sandy beaches."
